Job Summary

Lead and manage the local team to discharge all objectives being delegated. Retain and invest the human capital within the department and promote the services rendered to other stakeholders

Main Responsibilities

  • The Chief Financial Officer ("CFO") is the accountable executive of the completeness and accuracy of the financial, statutory, tax related and regulatory reporting for SG China and its branches. In addition, as a member of the SG China exco, to assist with material or important matters in the location. The scope includes ensuring compliance with all SG's policies that are relevant to Finance.
  • Specific reference is made to the following;
- To be the Finance Accountable Executive at the Board of Directors of SG China.
- Accountable for entity performance monitoring, including pnl, cost, scarce resources, local capital and tax position, and opine on legal entity matters such as entity P&L, balance sheet and tax forecasting. Provides alerts or warning messages to respective business immediately of any foresee impacts to each business for the changes in the regulatory, accounting standard, and taxes.
- Partners with business on development strategies and provide of information needed from Finance perspective;
- Ultimate custodian of all internal and external client relationships as they face Finance, including external auditors, the Board of Directors and Regional /Group senior management.
- Works closely with all Support Functions heads and the business to ensure that financial control is maintained and the assets of the firm are safeguarded. Identify areas of control weakness and works with them to remediate.
  • Ensure strong governance with Treasury & ALM related metrics and resources (specifically capital and liquidity) for internal/external obligations. Assisting in the understanding, assessment and planning for regulatory change as it affects businesses to ensure entity compliance with external and internal capital and liquidity requirements. Monitor impact of plans/forecasts on capital, RWA, Balance Sheet & Liquidity requirements.
  • Drive Finance processes and systems changes as well as the target Operating Model (local, regional, Shared Services Centers) and ensure successful completion by end 2018
  • Support the governance change in SG China, ensure the local FIND set up, process and reportings are in line with the regional practice
  • Follow up the People Development Plan with the concrete actions plan for the talented staff
  • Zero tolerance of operational incident and regulation breach, cultivation of risk awareness culture within the team

Candidate Profile

Academic Background
  • University graduate with professional accounting qualification

Working Experience / Technical Skills & Know how
  • Min 15+ years of experience within Finance Department of a sizable financial institution

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong controllership mindset with strong business acumen
  • Excellent communication skill to all levels within the organization
  • Excellent skill in building and managing business relationship

Language Skills

  • Good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese (Mandarin)

Computer Skill

  • Good command of MS Office application (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Good command of PeopleSoft operation (workforce management module) is an advantage

Professional Qualification

  • Fellow member of a CPA and Charter holder of CFA
