Financial Crime Compliance aligns current activities within Global Risk and helps to build these into a more integrated framework to conduct Customer Due Diligence which enables HSBC to manage financial crime risk more effectively. It builds stronger controls to improve the way Financial Crime Compliance risks are managed in order to spot gaps as well as trends so that the team can take action. It proactively gathers and analyses financial intelligence in a smart way so that suspicious transactions, activities or connections can be identified and we can adequately protect our customers from the threat of financial crime.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Senior Financial Crime Compliance Manager, Hong Kong.

Principal responsibilities

  • Organize Financial Crime Compliance related governance meetings in Hong Kong
  • Collect and collate relevant information for senior management reporting to ensure proper reporting and governance
  • Implement the Bank Financial Crime Compliance strategy, policy and standards in terms of governance and controls down to the country level
  • Work with the Financial Crime Compliance team regionally to maintain relevant contacts in Global Businesses and Global Functions
  • Stay at the forefront of key regulatory changes to ensure proactive communication with business and implement appropriate group policy and framework to manage the changes
  • Intersecting with and representing Financial Crime Compliance with senior business leadership
  • Implement the Operational Risk Framework within Financial Crime Compliance Unit


Qualifications
Requirements
  • Seasoned professional with experience in one or more senior risk compliance roles, to include significant Financial Crime Compliance experience
  • Extensive knowledge of Financial Crime Compliance regulations and guidance
  • Understanding of the Bank Group structure and its corporate culture preferred
  • Significant experience in the financial services industry
  • Lateral thinker with an ability to interpret and solve complex issues
  • Excellent leadership skills and ability to matrix manage
  • Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience developing an assurance model and leading a review team
  • Experience in leading assurance work in a complementary discipline
  • Demonstrate ability to lead change, contributing to joining up with the other teams in Risk and Business Regionally
  • Experience of dealing with regulatory matters and confident interaction with Regulators
  • Ability to implement practical, cost effective solutions to complex global issues regionally
