Description

Background:
  • The FP&A function is primarily responsible for providing management information and analysis to senior management in Asia. This includes performance measurement, strategic presentations, monthly business reviews and country performance reporting, annual Budget & Forecasting, competitor analysis and significant ad-hoc analyses
  • The team interfaces closely with all businesses and functional areas in order to provide a complete perspective on franchise performance
  • The role will support the Asia Retail Banking leadership team, and will be a key interface to the Country FP&A teams and the GCB sector finance teams
  • This individual will also work closely with other areas of Finance including Corporate Treasury and will support preparation for earnings releases since Asia GCB business results are reported externally to the investor community
  • The GRB FP&A team forms part of the overall FP&A function which also comprises GCB, ICG, Global Functions and Corporate Operations and Technology and the core regional team
Job Purpose:
  • Lead the Retail Segment Planning & Analysis Team in support of Asia Retail Banking
  • Assess and drive performance of Retail Banking businesses and countries in Asia through leading management information, analytics and metrics
  • Drive strategic initiatives to improve business performance and enhanced productivity
  • Be the 'trusted advisor' to the Asia Retail Banking Business Heads and drive business dialogue at all levels of the organization in order to support the achievement of key business and financial goals
  • Provide leadership of GRB Retail Banking team in Singapore and oversee Mumbai Retail Banking FP&A CoE team
  • Promote and drive talent development and mobility within the Asia Retail Banking Finance Division
Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive performance assessment of Retail Banking in Asia, providing insights into the performance and drivers of the business through financial analysis and leading financial metrics
  • Provide insights into areas of underperformance and propose corrective actions
  • Lead Finance Officer representing Finance in senior Retail Banking business committees
  • Drive strategic exercises for Retail Banking businesses in Asia working closing with country CBMs and CFOs, including annual budgets and 3- and 5-year strategic plans
  • Participate in reviews with the Citigroup CFO and Corporate team
  • Participate in periodic reviews with US Federal Reserve, SEC and OCC
  • Prepare and participate in conversations with NY in quarterly 'Earnings' calls with Citigroup CFO and Investor Relations
  • Lead country Asia Retail Banking business reviews with product and country management
  • Lead Asia Retail Banking FP&A team
  • Drive FP&A reengineering efforts in partnership with the Retail Banking regional FP&A team
  • Oversee preparation of strategic plans (annual budget exercise, quarterly forecast, 3-year strategic plans, etc.)
  • Partner with Asia Controllers to ensure completeness and accuracy of Retail Banking P&Ls
  • Play key interface role with other functional areas
  • Develop pipeline of Finance talent through management and coaching of immediate team as well as with partners across the markets

Knowledge/Experience:
  • Excellent working knowledge of Consumer businesses
  • Prior experience of working within Planning and Analysis
  • Broad experience of working within Finance in a highly matrixed global Financial Services firm

  • Demonstrated strength in detailed financial analysis

Qualifications

  • Strong financial accounting background with post qualification experience
  • Familiarity with Financial Services Industry and/or related business products would be desirable but not essential
