Function background/context:

Client Engagement and Marketing oversees strategic positioning of Citi's Markets and Securities Services business globally focusing on strengthening relationships with targeted of the business through events, thought leadership and marketing opportunities.

Job Purpose:

Working with the Markets and Securities Services global marketing team, this role will support all product lines across the Markets business to provide marketing tools and develop marketing programs, aimed at increasing awareness both internally and externally and ultimately to assist and support business growth. 
Key Responsibilities:
Client Engagement Events:
  • Executing proprietary thought leadership events for Markets and Securities Services client franchise focused on relevant market content and key themes
  • Work closely with RMs and Sales to ensure thought leadership events are coordinated across all relevant parties internally
  • Coordination of analysts and economists trips to Asia.
  • Full coordination of schedules
  • Liaison across products, Relationship Management team and Country Heads
  • Coordination and booking of group events
  • Management of travel schedules, liaison with assistants and corporate access
  • Entering of meetings on Velocity calendar
  • Requesting, Printing and distributing meeting materials
  • Sending summary e-mail to coverage letting them know about the meetings set up (at least two days before the first day, earlier if full schedule)
  • CRM client meeting entries
  • Full schedules entered onto Velocity calendar for monitoring of high profile events
  • Analyst schedules coordinated through Velocity calendar
  • Documents for meetings loaded onto Velocity
  • Printing of reports to monitor analyst client activity
  • Logging in client attendance post event
Marketing and Sponsorship:

Working closely with the 3rd party conference/exhibition organizers, to identify and maintain a comprehensive master list of key events/conferences, seminars and roadshows, to ensure that the business is pro-actively securing relevant attendance and speaker opportunities wherever possible. Working with external speakers and agencies to secure speakers and agreements for speaking at events and filming. Working with film crew to establish video series of high profile speakers and bringing them to clients via velocity and other channels. Managing key client entertainment events to a high standard to promote Citi's support of the arts and culture.
Working along with the sales and trading teams to develop and maintain a suite of practical sales support tools for products including but not limited to;
  • Fact/slip sheets
  • Brochures
  • Pitch books
  • Presentations
Internal Marketing:
  • To establishment and development of an internal marketing communications process, including the development of monthly updates of all marketing activity, developing quarterly newsletters around network enhancements, relevant communication update of relevant topics and news items.
  • Coordinate across products, business heads, legal, compliance, corp comms to secure all necessary approvals for all material developed. 


Knowledge/ experience:
  • 4+ years marketing and communications experience from a leading financial institution - ideally experience in Markets but not mandatory
  • Experience working in complex global institutions with teams and functions across multiple geographies
  • Must be organized and proficient at prioritizing and multi-tasking
  • Ability to interact at all levels
  • Highly-effective influencing skills; the ability to be persuasive towards internal and external constituents
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Ability to work as part of a team or individually on a proactive or reactive basis
  • Professional demeanor in all facets

  • Excellent communication skills, written and oral

  • Proven proficiency in Microsoft applications, including advanced PowerPoint, Excel, Word,
  • Experienced in the use of Graphics applications and Digital Marketing Tools a must
  • Experience using graphics programs including InDesign and Quark preferred
