Operations Officer, FXMM & Derivatives Operations (6 months contract)

Overview

The team's primarily responsibility is to ensure timely authorization and settlement of trades across a variety of FX Cash and Derivatives products - FX/MM transactions, Rates Derivatives, Equity & FX Derivatives. New joiners will be exposed to complex & structured products & be equipped with processing knowledge ranging from trade bookings to authorization and lifecycle management/settlement.

The team works closely with the Trading Advisory and Product Development Desk and middle office to resolve any trades discrepancies, making sure trades are booked and authorized timely to meet regulatory requirements and settlement cut off times. Aside from usual BAU processing, the team is also required to participate in UAT for a variety of projects, i.e.: regulatory reporting, system and process enhancements.

Responsibilities

  • Daily sorting and monitoring of incoming swifts from custodians
  • Reconcile clients' positions against custodians to determine entitlements
  • Process entitlements into clients' accounts
  • Send email notifications/confirmations to Front Office team
  • Collate clients' instructions from RM/MA
  • Monitor deadlines and ensure instructions received and processed, where required
  • Monitor status and update results into clients' positions and inform RM/MA
  • Escalate to team lead for any exception request
  • Liaise with custodians and business partner within the bank of corporate actions related query
  • Process disclosure requests under Companies Acts
  • Process quarterly management and safekeeping fees

Requirements
  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree
  • Meticulous and good team player
  • Prior working experience is preferred
  • FX and/or equities settlements background will be a plus
