APRA is seeking a Manager to lead a team of supervisors focused on the Superannuation industry within the Specialised Institutions Division (SID). SID is one of two divisions within APRA's responsible for providing prudential regulation and risk assessment for financial service organisations within Australia, the other being the Diversified Institutions Division.
The role plays a key part in supporting APRA's core function by undertaking prudential supervision and risk assessment activities in order to achieve the government and APRA's objective of providing a prudentially sound financial system.
It involves managing a high-performing team, ensuring the team meets its strategic objectives, developing and coaching staff, managing supervision activities which includes maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and making decisions relating to the strategic direction of the team's supervision activities.
As part of the APRA leadership team, this role will help shape our culture, support our people and prepare APRA for the future. The successful candidate will therefore have demonstrated experience leading and managing teams, in addition to a proven ability to engage with senior stakeholders both internally and externally to discuss industry and regulatory issues.
The successful candidate will have a positive mindset and an energetic approach to problem solving, with a willingness to offer new ideas and a fresh perspective. Knowledge of the Superannuation insurance industries would be advantageous but not essential.
