As a Senior Manager for Digital Risk, you will play a lead role in the management of second line operational risk and compliance advice across ANZ’s Digital and Australia Transformation Strategy, including identification and oversight of emerging risks relating to the development of innovation capabilities and business continuity. You will also be responsible for supporting the Senior Digital Risk Manager (Risk Management) with broader risk strategy, risk training and communication activities, including the development and delivery of insight-based reporting and analysis and the governance of ‘digital guidelines’ for digital initiatives.

Your key responsibilities will include reviewing, challenging and oversight of 1st Line risk management activities; being the business continuity director (BCD) ; providing risk and compliance services in the context of ANZ‘s Risk Management Frameworks (incl. outsourcing); preparing and managing reporting requirements for the business with insights on internal and external data for risk analysis and portfolio management reporting; and framework development.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Review and Challenge - Leading the review, challenge and oversight of 1st Line risk management activities and the impact of digital, technology and data risks / controls on the business, with a focus on ensuring the business understands how these risks / controls impact business objectives and / or the Divisional risk appetites.
  • Business Continuity Responsibilities for the Digital Function.
  • Challenging the effectiveness of operational risk management by developing and executing a Targeted Review programme of work that delivers commercial insight and adds value to the Business. Primary focus on division wide reviews / risk themes and or event driven reviews at the request of Digital Banking Group Executive, CRO, Risk Leadership Team or Enterprise Risk Team.
  • Providing thought leadership and continuous improvement of material changes and trends to form an assessment of emerging risks to challenge the Business and ensure Business Line 1 Assurance is effective, while understanding that we are increasingly developing the level of sophistication of approach with a focus on agile delivery and mindset.
  • Reporting - Managing reporting requirements for the business with insights on internal and external data for risk analysis and portfolio management reporting. This includes, but not limited to, reporting for the Group Committees, operating risk and compliance dashboards, key strategic projects and the overall measurement and management of a portfolio of initiatives.

About You
To be successful in this role, will ideally bring the following:
  • Extensive years of experience in Digital, Business Continuity and/or Outsourcing either obtained through risk/ assurance or governance roles
  • Deep expertise in strategy, program or portfolio management and Board level reporting
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement in ambiguous environments
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and empower own team, as well as influence across functions and business units
  • Proven experience and ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders across multiple business units.
  • Have sound appreciation of all aspects of compliance and operational risk.
