Robotics and Automation Manager

How will you contribute?

This is a unique and exciting opportunity to evangelise Robotics Process Automation within the Westpac Group and enable all business units to achieve their goals using this capability. You'll have real accountability for the end to end oversight of BluePrism Robotics deliveries with a focus on ensuring that automations are effectively delivered and maximizing benefit to the Group.

Key accountabilities of the position are as follows:

Business partnership

  • Be the COE/Group Tech point person for the Business
  • Instil and role model a culture of exemplary customer satisfaction for the business teams you serve
  • Develop an in-depth understanding of the business processes in scope of automation, including technology systems and environments
  • Understand the business context and drivers that contribute to successful performance. This includes understanding their needs, concerns and the environment that they operate in
  • Effectively manage relationships and communications with project stakeholders, including customers and delivery teams


Effective Solution Design

  • Participate in solution process design activities, ensuring the appropriate review and approval process is followed
  • Provide specialist advice on general design methods and practices and identify conditions or factors that may affect objectives
  • Ensure solutions consider the combined features and constraints relating to data, security, integration, infrastructure and performance
  • Drive adoption of best practices around design, configuration, quality and performance and ensure proposed solutions are scalable and extensible


Governance & Best Practice

  • Adheres to RPA risk framework and associated controls to ensure all risk is identified, managed, escalated and managed
  • Continuously seeks to identify risks and communicate any risks or issues
  • Driving delivery teams to produce high quality automations that are fast, hands-off, resilient and containing minimal technical debt
  • Perform and report on formal code reviews to control quality
  • Drive object re-use by maintaining a library of re-usable objects, governing the use of existing objects and creation of new objects
  • Provide guidance on the RPA approach and application of methodology in projects
  • Drive consistent implementation of RPA methodology and enforces adoption
  • Act as gatekeeper and checkpoint prior to production deployment
  • Assist delivery teams in solving of technical spikes


Robotics Capability

  • Contribute to the RPA strategy within Westpac
  • Drive projects to uplift Robotics capability

Experience required to achieve success:
  • 3-5 years experience in a large and complex organisation, primarily in the financial services industry
  • 2 years experience in delivering BluePrism Automation implementations
  • Desirable - 1 years PegaOpenspan development experience
  • Experience in agile ways of working
  • Experience in other IT or business disciplines
  • Tangible experience in liaising with Senior Management.
  • Track record in delivering outcomes on time, on budget & required quality
  • Ability to work under pressure & to tight deadlines
