The Role
Reporting to the Technical Pricing Manager, the Pricing Specialist is responsible for delivering best in class technical pricing capability. The role will involve leading the integration of pricing models into Earnix and building the end to end pricing process including algorithms, monitoring and feedback loops.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and build an end to end pricing process in Earnix that is best in class for all products across IAG, including:
  • Create a data pipeline for tech model consumption
  • Build (or port if pre-existing) constrained and unconstrained technical pricing models in H20 for ingestion into Earnix
  • Build demand models
  • Create live scoring mechanism for risks
  • Design and build of monitoring reports within Earnix
  • Design of pricing governance process, including around price changes
  • Help develop a high performance team culture:
  • Oversight of junior pricing analysts, responsible for their management on the project
  • Sharing technical knowledge and project leadership
  • Demonstrate Closer, Braver, Faster and live by the values of our spirit
  • Work closely with our stakeholders:
  • Work collaboratively with the Australian Division Pricing team to ensure tech model outputs and design fit with desired rating engine algorithms and final market pricing structures
  • Help to bring close stakeholders along the build journey to best in class pricing, including Australian Division Pricing, Product, and Portfolio teams

Skills & Experience
  • 5+ years of general insurance pricing experience
  • Strong technical/analytical skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft applications including Excel
  • Experience with SAS, SQL, Python or equivalent (essential)
  • Familiarity with pricing techniques and models such as GLM, GBM
  • Tertiary qualification in a numerical or analytical discipline i.e. Finance, Mathematics or Statistics or Actuarial related field with demonstrated equivalent experience (Preferable)
