Job Description

Project Manager II, is responsible for planning, managing and delivering ITS Project(s) assigned through all specific phases in alignment with business and/or enterprise strategies. This role oversees relationships (internal and external); liaises with other departments performing financial management; provides leadership, direction and coaching to team(s) while partnering with business and executive stakeholders within across multiple Lines of Business (LoB)

The job requires a strong manager with excellent coordination and prioritization skills, client communication, stakeholder and team management skills.

  • Manage the delivery and/or support of projects for ITS clients to meet business objectives/goals
  • Oversee the scope during the course of the project and collaboratively adjusts scope where necessary ensuring adherence to established project change management processes
  • Own project / program / portfolio financials; Owns data quality and accuracy in financial reporting
  • Generate cost estimates and provide general financial management, incorporating risk, by leveraging appropriate tools, templates, established estimating models, best practices, stakeholders and processes for assigned project
  • Accurately forecast and manage assigned budget and provides monthly financial reporting for projects, in alignment with Finance standards
  • Provide project reporting, including technology spend, and ad-hoc analysis and present issues requiring attention by senior management.
  • Identify discrepancies between financial forecasts and actuals and escalate material discrepancies and adjust scope, schedule or budget as appropriate
  • Execute project management deliverables within budget and as per the approved project plan, working with business partners to develop the content of those deliverables
  • Ensure the project spending approval policy is followed
  • Monitor project health continuously and engage management as required if project health changes
  • Monitor project performance and act as a point of contact for escalations and other issues as required
  • Support vendor management and strategic sourcing process, managing RFP activities and partnering with vendor(s) to ensure efficient and effective project delivery
  • Manage resource and capacity management process for assigned projects
  • Manage stakeholder expectation in a timely manner; Ensure a close relationship is maintained with ITS sponsors, AVPs, VPs, in order to be kept informed of their business needs and direction
  • Comply with project management methodology (PMLC) as determined by ePMO
  • Provide leadership to attract/retain high quality people, including appropriate employee communication, sound structure/processes, succession planning, etc.
  • Ability to present and meet the "C" level within the organization
  • Able to address sponsor and steering committee review boards
  • Proven ability to deliver results in an environment where resources are shared across multiple competing groups
  • May indirectly manage a cross-LoB project team consisting of Business Analyst, Business SMEs and Technology resources where applicable to the project
  • May manage a number of small projects at any given time
  • Strong governance around, triple constraints, use and leverage of details in project plans, schedules, presentations skills, Project Charter / Scope and RACI
  • Champions project governance and processes; support/participate in developing the strategic direction of the PMO
  • Conduct/oversee project planning with ITS Stakeholders, prioritize new/existing projects and allocate Project Management resources consistent with business strategy and objectives
  • Ability to translate the Audit requirements to business / technical requirement


  • 10+ years experience in Project Management
  • Minimum 5 years experience in the Financial Services Industry
  • Strong experience in managing data center migration and networking projects
  • Advanced knowledge of bank and technology standards (e.g., infrastructure, architecture, processes, applications) from a strategic perspective and managing/ directing teams and application support
  • Advanced and thorough understanding of businesses and/or organizational practices/ disciplines
  • Typically leads the delivery of Tier 3/4 projects ($1MM to $10MM)
  • Understanding of regulatory governing bodies such as PCI, SOX, COBIT
  • Proven ability to strategically think and execute
  • Experience with MS Office Suite of software (Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook and Sharepoint) with expert working and operational knowledge of MS Excel and Clarity
  • Strong organizational skills, self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities
