Senior Analyst
The Senior Analyst is accountable to develop and deliver reporting, analytics, and financial modeling pertaining to the Automotive Finance LOB within the risk appetite. There will be additional responsibility to help develop pricing/programs rooted in data and market analysis.
The incumbent is accountable to act as a reporting and analytics subject matter expert for the LOB. The successful candidate will combine both business and technology acumen to generate and maintain reporting in various forms (models, cubes, ad-hoc reports). Such reporting is used by leaders for performance evaluation, to facilitate coaching, and for business decision-making purposes. The incumbent will be self-motivated and take ownership of solving problems and proactively raising issues to management that may require further investigation.

Reporting Proposals
  • Responsible to design reporting that is intended to incent, measure, and drive particular business objectives.
  • Refine design proposals in collaboration with various stakeholders across the business.
  • Ensure all proposals in rooted in analytics with supporting backup to help grow/enhance the business.

  • Act as subject matter expert (SME) for reporting and analytics by becoming intimately familiar with:

o Data in BMO's various data warehouses (NCCS, CCAPS, PROD_MBA)
o Product business information - including processes, pricing, incentives, campaigns, product offerings, etc.
  • Use specialized query and database tools - SAS, SQL, and Microsoft Reporting Services - to implement approved report proposals and financial models.
  • Design and improve analytics and ad-hoc reporting processes.
  • Work proactively and collaboratively with key clients and stakeholders to continuously enhance reports and forecasting techniques.
  • Perform standard weekly/monthly/quarterly reporting to help guide business decisions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge and understanding of products, processes, and relevant legal, regulatory and technology requirements for reporting through audits and quality checks, to ensure decisions are adequately documented, and clearly communicated.
  • Comply with all regulatory, legal and ethical requirements.
Relationship Building
  • Build relations with all cross functional relationships primarily with the Sales force and Product group.
  • Liaise with other groups to achieve objectives of improved efficiency and reporting innovation.

  • University level background in an analytical discipline such as statistics, mathematics, economics, computer science, operations research, or engineering
  • Strong business communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience in working with and linking big data sets across multiple sources
  • Strong in data manipulation/analysis tools, including SAS, SQL, or equivalent data manipulation software
  • Creative problem solving skills
  • Time management skills
  • Expert level with Excel and a data visualization tool (Spotfire or Tableau)
  • Experience working in the Financial industry

  • Excellent verbal and written communication
