Purpose of Job:
The Senior Credit Analyst is a part of a team of risk reporting and analytics specialists that support daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual risk reports for Senior Management. The Senior Credit Analyst will assist the Senior Manager on designing, developing and implementing solutions for GRM in areas of reporting and other risk initiatives. The Senior Credit Analyst will work closely with the business stakeholders to review and assess business needs for improved risk information and to help the Senior Manager on define system enhancements to respond to business, operational and management requirements. The Senior Credit Analyst activities include data analysis, documentation and support in reporting enhancement development and implementation. The individual must thrive on challenge, be proactive and dynamic, demonstrate initiative and sound judgement, team player, be eager to learn and be customer focused.

Major Accountabilities:
  1. Assist the Senior Manager, Risk Reporting and Analytics with the design, development and implementation of management and regulatory reporting solutions or enhancements to existing reporting by:
    • Ensure timeline and delivery commitments are tightly managed and aligned with reporting or project deliverables.
  2. Validating and cross-checking data and analyzing period-over-period changes for a variety of reports.
  3. Running ad-hoc queries for internal stakeholders.
  4. Effectively communicating with GRM, IT&S, Finance, Retail and Credit groups.
  5. Assist in the redesign of the Risk Reporting and Analytics processes to improve efficiencies, facilitate analysis, shorten report generation times.
  6. Assist the Senior Manager in the preparation of the tracking of QSRs:
  • Coordinate timely collection of QSRs
  • Update file and prepare documentation needed for Audit purposes

Education/Work Experience/Designations:
A minimum of two or more years of progressive, relevant and practical experience with world class organizations, preferably with financial institutions, in information management fields, and a proven track record of success in implementing effective information systems that support and generate profitable and informed decision-making in the financial services sector.

The incumbent must have experience and knowledge of data models, testing, problem solving and data analysis experience in order to work cross functionally within an environment of multiple data repositories. Particularly, excellent knowledge and experience in the following areas are essential:
  • Continually acquire and enhance knowledge of risk management applications and Bank's risk management areas.
  • Provide on-going support to our partners and business stakeholders.
  • Assist with managing projects and coordinate work with Project Teams and provide post rollout support for system enhancements.
  • Working with large amounts of data from a variety of different sources
  • Innovative by devising novel solutions that will streamlines processes and improve effectiveness;
  • Ability to influence and secure co-operation \ assistance from other departments;
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Experience effectively working in a global matrix team, across a range of functions, seniority and geography;
  • Highly motivated, organized individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills, knowledge of project and process management disciplines and a positive 'can do' attitude;
  • Strong time management skills, ability to multi-task, while being results oriented and team focused;
  • A broad range of cross-functional business, industry and functional knowledge is required to integrate technical solutions with business requirements.
  • A strong knowledge of the Bank's policies & processes, technical platform applications and financial information systems would be an asset.
  • Effective research and analysis of business requirements and functional specifications leading to the completion of complex functional specifications or External Design Documents.
  • Perform analysis and evaluation of options, alternatives, and system capabilities.
  • Experience with SQL is a definite asset.

Advanced graduate university degree (typically in mathematics, business administration, statistics or equivalent). Previous Banking and/or Credit experience is desireable.
