We Offer
You will join us as a North Asia AFG Lawyer
• A challenging role within our dedicated legal team primarily supporting the APAC Financing Group ("AFG") division
• Opportunity to provide legal advisory and execution support on (i) a wide variety of financing products including share-backed loans, structured lending, pre-IPO financings, convertible loans / bonds and event-driven financings; and (ii) principal investments
• Opportunity to work on closely with the business on transactions across the APAC region, with particular focus on North Asia.
• Responsibility to identify and analyses legal and regulatory risks, and ensure that they are understood by the relevant internal partners and addressed in a timely and appropriate manner
• Responsibility to prepare, review and negotiate internal share-backed loan documentation, engagement letters, term sheets, confidentiality undertakings, marketing materials and (in conjunction with external counsel where relevant) transaction-specific documentation
• Responsibility to instruct and manage external counsels, and ensure high quality of services
• Regular collaboration with other teams within the General Counsel function, and with other key internal partners (including Compliance, Credit Risk teams for example), who will be relying on your legal and strategic advice both on AFG related matters and other ad hoc matters

You Offer

To excel in this role, you should possess:
  • 5+ years of equivalent work experience gained in a leading law firm or a leading investment bank
  • Practical knowledge and experience of the legal / regulatory regime applicable to financing activities in APAC, in particular Hong Kong and China
  • Excellent technical, analytical and legal drafting skills
  • Teammate who can build trusted relationships with partners and other team members
  • Outstanding transaction management and execution skills, including the ability to manage external counsels, priorities matters effectively and pro-actively drive projects and matters forward to resolution
  • Ability to balance business needs and risk appetite of the Bank
  • Result oriented, dedicated, hardworking who can work on own initiative and can deliver on time under pressure with a high level of integrity and flexibility, sense of urgency, attention to detail and quality standards
  • Ability to read, write and speak Chinese (Mandarin) is strongly preferred
