We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Actuarial Consultant, Modelling.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Work with Chief Actuary’s Office to provide central modelling and analytical services
  • Develop and maintain actuarial modelling capability to satisfy business demand from the global insurance businesses.
  • Comply with regulatory and internal policy requirements impacting model development and maintenance
  • Including implementation of sufficient controls to satisfy internal Model Risk Policy and SOX (Sarbanes Oxley Act) requirements
  • Provide modelling support to other teams within ACE (the Actuarial Centre of Excellence)
  • Conduct day-to-day development and maintenance activities for actuarial and financial reporting models, and provide central support on actuarial analytic related issues
  • Ensure that the modelling and financial reporting work is compliant with relevant policy and regulations, and evidenced appropriately to underpin the External and Internal Audit process
  • Provide support to local actuarial teams, including implementation of new methodology and assumptions, and conduct the model development and testing in accordance with Group standards
  • Provide support on actuarial metrics (e.g. Reserves/ PVIF/CSM) and other MI information under various reporting bases (e.g. Statutory and IFRS) for key stakeholders; including Risk, Local Business and Group Insurance
  • Keep up-to-date with applicable modelling standards, requirements and good practice

Requirements

  • Significant experience of cash flow modelling, in a life office (Reporting/Pricing) or consulting context
  • Experience of Prophet Development and/or Testing activities would be highly beneficial
  • Experience of with-profits designs and stochastic modelling would be highly beneficial
  • Good progress towards actuarial qualification (FSA/FIA/FFA/Equivalent)
  • Strong cash-flow modelling skills and high level of proficiency in Prophet, Moses or RAFM
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to form effective relationships with customers and partners in the insurance group and wider bank
  • Ability to prioritise competing demands and demonstrate flexibility to meet dynamic requirements
