Assistant Economist

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze data on economic conditions that affect the Bank’s business;
• Prepare reports discussing economic issues and their impact on the industry and the organization;
• Forecast economic and financial indicators for strategic planning and risk management purposes;
• Assist Economists in researching, collecting and compiling information for preparation of reports and presentations; 
• Assist Chief Economist in planning, directing, coordinating and controlling the administrative works of the Department.

Requirements

• Minimum of a University graduate in Economics. A master degree or above is preferred
• No prior working experience is required, though relevant experience will definitely be a plus
• Excellent command of English and Cantonese. Ability to converse in Mandarin a positive
• Good analytical and numerical skills
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Express ideas clearly and concisely both orally and in writing
• Team player with effective interpersonal skills to facilitate effective working relationship with others
• Good knowledge in data analytical software, e.g. Python, will be an advantage
