Assistant Vice President, Governance

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate respective governance/ committee meetings chaired by Chief Compliance and Operations Officer and other bank-wide governance/ committee meetings when necessary
• Support Team Head in analyzing and escalating Compliance and Operations related matters to senior management’s attention
• Manage routine/ad-hoc visits, inspections, internal and external audits and other enquiries linked to compliance, legal, financial crime compliance, and operational issues of Compliance and Operations and overseas branches and/or subsidiaries respectively
• Manage multi-dimensional projects/requests and more broadly to policies and procedures, change management, legal entities, internal reporting, metrics, budgeting, etc.
• Keeping abreast of regulatory changes, new regulations and internal policy changes in order to further identify new key risk areas with compliance teams
• Support Team Head to identify, measure, mitigate, control and monitor operational risk
• Manage the implementation of risk and control related initiatives, policies and tools as directed
• Maintain good relationship and manage the routine and ad-hoc requests/ governance reporting from Group and work closely with CEO Office
• Manage and provide Head Office level support to the rollout of internal and external requirements, new regulations and other relevant initiatives (e.g. training, policies & procedures, etc) within overseas branches and/or subsidiaries

Requirements

• Degree holder
• Minimum 5 years legal, general audit, compliance, operational risk management, or internal control experience
• Good knowledge in banking laws, products and services, operational risk management framework, internal control
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua)
