Associate Director, IT Controls & Governance (Regulatory)

Job Description
Role Summary:

The Associate Director of IT Controls & Governance (Regulatory) is responsible to manage and deliver IT regulatory/control initiatives in accordance with regulatory requirements and company standards. The individual maintains and monitors the IT regulatory framework, and in addition, to carry out training on IT regulatory, risk and internal topics in order to embrace and promote sound risk culture.

Key Result Areas:
  • Represent IT department in formulation and execution of regulatory compliance and risk requirements
  • Handle regulatory related matters on IT projects and services
    • Ensure compliance requirements, and controls are appropriately identified, assessed, evaluated, understood and documented in accordance with regulatory requirements and company standards
  • Establish processes, controls and regular compliance status reporting on departmental level
    • Report and escalate compliance and risk related issues in accordance with regulatory requirements and company standards 
  • Satisfy external regulatory filing under endorsement of Compliance Officer and respective leaders in IT department
  • Provide advice to IT staff and serve as focal point between stakeholders and IT staff
    • Work in collaboration with other HK BusinessUnit compliance and risk staff for holistic compliance and risk management
    • Work in collaboration with regional stakeholders to leverage artifacts and experience
  • Promote and formulate execution strategy to uplift compliance and risk awareness/fulfilment in the IT department
    • Carry out training on IT regulatory, risk and internal control topics
    • Conduct risk and control assessment, drive risk mitigation actions, document, track and report

Experiences and Qualifications:
  • University degree holder (preferably in IT studies)
  • CISA qualified
  • At least 8-10 years of relevant experience in a compliance, regulatory or audit role in an IT capacity, preferably with working experience in one of the Big 4 accounting firms
  • Strong technology background and risk management sense. Knowledge of latest technology development and insurance business an advantage
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g. HKIA, HKMA, OSFI, MAS, etc.) on IT related areas, experience in handling regulatory queries from regulatory bodies would be a plus
  • An individual who is motivated and able to work independently, with minimal supervision
  • A team player who is able to interact with other control functions on project delivery

  • Good analytical, teamwork capability and able to work independently
  • Good interpersonal communication, management and presentation skills
