Our client is a leading Chinese comprehensive financial institution with SFC licensed type 1, 4, 6, 9 business. They are now looking for a Credit Risk to join the team.
Responsibilities:
Self-starter and evaluate financial condition/credit worthiness of applicants
Perform risk assessment and continuous monitoring of your assigned portfolio, including assisting Business in preparing loan requests as necessary, occasionally meeting with customers together with the Sales team in order to better understand business and/or credit requests
Provide approval recommendations independently and proactively to Business on rating, facility size, requirements for trading, collateral and security documentation
Prepare counterparty reviews/transactional credit proposals, drawing conclusions relating to credit assessment, risk appetite, exposure drivers and business prospects
Monitor counterparty and portfolio credit quality, as well as key risk drivers of portfolio credit exposure on a continual basis complying with policies, procedures, security requirements, and government regulations
Daily monitoring of credit exposure against approved limits and parameters. The position will require familiarity with credit risk processes and systems and coordination with business and support units, such as relationship management, legal and operations
Perform ad hoc credit risk analysis and portfolio deep dive when necessary
Proactively monitor Corporates, Banks and other Non-Bank Financial Institutions, across the region ensuring appropriate management of deteriorating conditions in the portfolio and the factors influencing these circumstances
Liaise with HO Risk in Beijing and local site risk management as well as business managers in respect of all credit risk related issues
Assist line manager with the preparation of the monthly Risk Management Committee reports inclusive of analysis of firm’s exposures, counterparties of concern, and pertinent credit issues
Requirements:
An undergraduate or post graduate degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
Significant number of years’ experience of working in a bank or a financial institution focusing on loan approval or risk research/analysis related to Chinese Corporates and Institutions
Solid accounting knowledge is perferred
2-4 years of professional work experience, financial services preferred analyzing credit risk for Greater China region companies
Good understanding across all Global Markets products and risk mitigation techniques.
Good understanding of financial derivatives, especially on legal documentation and loan documentation
Ability to form effective relationships and achieve influence at the front office staff
Strong writing, analytical, communication and presentation skills
Eager and proactive to learn new things
Communication and interpersonal skills, including the capacity to articulate the case for risk management in the language of business
Understand and interpret complex business requirements
