Our client is a leading insurance company with a dominating presence globally and they are now growing their team.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate well with departments, team members and sales representatives on a regular basis and provide underwriting support to all parties including portfolio analysis and reviews to ensure business sustainability
- Work closely with business and operations stakeholders to setup underwriting requirements and framework
- Align and ensure that underwriting decisions are processed within agreed time frames internally or as per specific SLA signed with partners
- Provide underwriting opinions and responses by telephone and email within agreed turnaround times
- Ability to make sound underwriting decisions in line with the underwriting guidelines and make commercial decisions when necessary
- Support in projects when required, review documentation where applicable, research related information
- Provide support to the Claims and Legal departments on non-disclosure, anti-selection or potential fraudulent cases and offer retrospective underwriting decisions
- Manage and develop pricing models, underwriting logic, policy wordings and endorsements
- Refer complex cases to assigned authority and work with functional lead to implement new underwriting guidelines where applicable
- Drive the process of improving risk selection and risk pricing capabilities
- Process improvements and simplification of existing functions
- Work with senior stakeholders for both technology and business
Requirements:
- Bachelor Degree Holder
- Minimum 5 years of Underwriting working experience in General Insurance sector, Property & Casualty, Motor experience preferred
- Good understanding of class specific underwriting and development reinsurance knowledge, relevant market conditions and broad knowledge in insurance industry
- Great connections and relationships with clients and brokers
- Proficient in MS Office including Word, Excel and Powerpoint
- Good command in English, Cantonese and Mandarin
