A digital investment platform seeking for a strategic individual to build, oversee and lead their Hong Kong office. As the GM & Country Head, candidate will be in charge of leading every company's function and developing a winning strategy, which includes giving the team strategic direction, driving business development, and hitting profit and revenue goals. The GM serves as the principal representative of the company in Hong Kong, reporting directly to the Group CEO.
Main Responsibilities are:
- Create and oversee company's expansion in Hong Kong
- Act as a Director and Responsible Officer for the company in Hong Kong
- Act as a business partner to the CEO and other members of the senior management team in developing business plans in accordance with the company's group and country-level strategies.
- Oversee all Hong Kong operations and business activities to ensure they produce the desired results and are consistent with company’s overall strategy and mission
- Create trusting relationships with important partners and stakeholders while serving as a point of contact for important shareholders, such as financial regulators.
- Build organizational and team structures, as well as processes, to create a highly functional and performing team. Expand company's team in Hong Kong.
- Participate in associations or events that are linked to company's industry.
- Possess at least 10 years of work experience across Financial Services, Fintechs or other Start-ups with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role
- Possess a License in either Type 1, 4 or 9
- Proven track record of making strategies for action and carrying them out while showing an entrepreneurial attitude and possessing exceptional organizational and leadership abilities.
- Fintech enthusiast with thorough understanding of startup ecosystems and community
- Experience leading teams and many business tasks, including marketing, compliance, finance, etc.
- Knowledge of good corporate governance and general management techniques
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must as the team is growing and already includes people from over 15 different countries.
- Results-oriented and execution-focused, driven and entrepreneurial; able to take responsibility for results and move things forward with a sense of urgency
- Experience in retail banking is beneficial
- Having leadership experience with regional exposure to Asia, prior investing experience, and commercial or company development ownership are all major pluses.
