We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Head of Risk and Control.

Principal responsibilities
  • Proactive feedback on proposed operational risk policy for the business and likely impacts, areas of improvement.
  • Guidance to business in adhering to the Operational Risk Management Framework and operational risk policies.
  • Provide expert advice to business in the completion of Risk and Control Assessments including identifying material operational risks and controls
  • Provide guidance to the business to develop and execute continuous monitoring plan for key controls.
  • Plan targeted and ad hoc reviews to provide control assurance as and when needed such as emerging risk identified or in response to major business or regulatory changes.
  • Plan and complete sustainability assessment for Financial Crime Risk issues.
  • Ensure and participate in appropriate and effective operational risk governance within the business.
  • Advise business regarding operational risk policy dispensations.
  • Provide advice to business to support them in setting risk appetite.
  • Contribute to the effective identification, assessment and root cause analysis of material internal risk events, advising and constructively challenging business on resolution.
  • Track and provide advice on the completion of management response actions, ensure timely and accurate recording in the operational risk management system
  • Produce business operational risk reporting and insight based on Risk and Control Assessment results for use by business and wider stakeholders or governance.
  • Escalate top and emerging operational risks working with business and Global Functions.
  • Keep abreast of regulatory and internal policy changes for continuous risk
  • Provide leadership and guidance to ensure team members deliver maximum performance and potential.
  • Encourage a performance based culture through reward recognition and personal development.
  • Build a cohesive team and ensure alignment with stakeholders to deliver business strategies and objectives.
  • Share best practices and provide consultation to enhance areas for improvement, identifying and addressing training needs.

  • University graduate
  • Prior management experience, ideally from a banking, financial institution
  • Proficient strategic planning and project management capabilities
  • Experienced in liaising with internal, external business partners and regulatory bodies
  • Good command of written and spoken English as well as Cantonese
  • Proven leadership experience in driving and implementing operational risk framework
