Department Profile
The Institutional Equity Division (IED) is a global leader in the origination, distribution and trading of equity, equity-linked and equity-derivative securities. The Asia Equities documentation team assists IED in APAC region including Japan with drafting and negotiation of the legal documentation required for clients trading equity products with Morgan Stanley.

We are currently seeking an experienced documentation negotiator in Hong Kong to be a key player of our team. Responsibilities include:
- Prepare and negotiate legal documentation in relation to prime brokerage, OTC equity derivatives, securities lending, listed derivatives and electronic trading

- Act as primary point of contact with clients and their counsel for all negotiations
- Interact with clients in connection with new industry rules and regulations
- Review and analyze legal documentation and legal opinions to determine capacity and authority - Work closely with internal stakeholders in terms of documentation and to ensure a smooth process in client onboarding Support sales and trading with respect to non-standard transaction documentation
- Participate in globally or locally led projects related to regulatory updates and regulatory requirements in the documentation
- Assist in the development and project management of policies, procedures and systems


- Holder of law degree
- 5+ years’ experience with negotiating prime brokerage documentation, ISDA documentation, and/or other relevant contracts in corporate law firm or financial institution
- Knowledge of industry regulations and best practices
- Ability to identify and resolve issues and escalate as necessary
- Ability to multi-task and operate in a dynamic environment
- Organized and detail oriented
- Good team player
- Exceptional organizational and conflict resolution skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English
