We are looking for a hands-on IT Manager to oversee the strategy, roadmap, day-to-day operations and staff for Block.one in HK and AsiaPac region. This manager will work with other senior managers to determine the corporate IT roadmap, lead implementations across Hong Kong and AsiaPac offices, and manage all day to day IT operations.

Block.one is a software publisher specializing in high performance blockchain technologies. Its first project, EOSIO, an open-source blockchain protocol designed to enable secure data transfer and high-performance decentralized applications, has received global recognition as the first performant blockchain platform, following its introduction in May 2018.

Through its affiliate, Block.one Hong Kong provides software development and consultancy services through its office in Central, Hong Kong. As Block.one scales its offices in Hong Kong and the United States, we are building disruptive solutions based on the latest technological innovations and trends.

We are looking for a hands-on IT Manager to oversee the strategy, roadmap, day-to-day operations and staff for Block.one in HK and AsiaPac region.  This manager will work with other senior managers to determine the corporate IT roadmap, lead implementations across Hong Kong and AsiaPac offices, and manage all day to day IT operations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a clear understanding of the needs of Block.one businesses, executives, and staff across the region, and work with global counterparts to develop IT strategies, roadmaps, and technology plans.
  • Manage company-wide IT infrastructure, network and computer systems
  • Technical aptitude and current knowledge to perform IT tasks and fill in for team members when necessary
  • Ability to function as a Project Manager for all IT-related projects, and ensure that projects are meeting timelines and are completed successfully.
  • Hire, develop, and manage the necessary IT staff to support smooth operations across all Block.one AsiaPac offices and businesses.
  • Manage 3rd party vendor and purchasing relationships for this position including IT and telecommunications and account for vendor performance and budget compliance.
  • Manage equipment inventory and ensure that adequate resources are available across network, server, endpoint, and mobile needs to support company growth rates.
  • Provide “on call” IT support to end users after hours when needed and ensure that an advanced level of technical support is provided to the IT team for complex support ticket resolution.
  • Ensure that security patch and vulnerability management policies are being met across all endpoints, servers, and 3rd party applications.
  • Provide IT policy communications and ensure clear and frequent communications between IT management, support staff, and Block.one employees.
  • Ensure that all aspects of Block.one’s IT estate is documented, including technical configurations.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of Corporate IT support experience, including the management of technical staff at various levels.
  • Hands-on experience with computer networks, system administration, and enterprise software
  • Proven experience with project planning and ability to complete complex IT projects.
  • Experience with configuration and patch management technologies.  Experience with cloud platforms highly desirable.
  • PMP and / or technical certifications desirable.
  • Outstanding communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours in order to communicate periodically with US counterparts.
