Department overview: Legal department partners with management, business and other corporate divisions to support business to achieve long-term and sustainable business success with significant emphasis on ethics, compliance and conduct. Within legal department, we have transaction legal team that supports respective business as well as corporate and regional legal that provides legal advice and support to the respective regional management and entities.
Role and Responsibilities: - Be a core member of the Greater China legal team with a primary focus on HK legal matters. This candidate would provide in-house legal support on corporate and company secretarial matters for HK, as well as advice on internal agreements and HK legal issues
- Be able to also provide legal support on Taiwan and China corporate, business and strategic projects, which include negotiation of various commercial agreement as well as review and advice on legal and regulatory matters for the Greater China region
- Work with business, compliance, operation and other departments in formulating and implementing internal guidelines, processes and protocols to ensure compliance of relevant laws and regulations
- Act as one of the key contact person with external legal advisers for the Greater China region
- Keep abreast of key legal developments in the Greater China legal and regulatory space relevant to our business
- Update our internal legal directory and market updates
Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required: - Qualification as lawyers in Hong Kong
- At least 10 years post qualification experiences in the relevant area
- Ideally the individual would have in-house experiences in financial institutions where he / she provides legal service for Greater China region
- Strong business acumen with open mind and flexibility
- High proficiency in written English and Chinese
