An international asset management house is looking for a high calibre to join as Strategy & Business Development - Executive Director/ Managing Director. The position is based in Hong Kong.

Our client is an international asset management house. They focus on providing clients with global investment solutions that meet the demands and challenges of sophisticated and complex investment and economic circumstances. With steady growth, they are now looking for a high calibre to join their team.               

Accountable for the development, execution and implementation of the organic and inorganic strategic imperatives.  Drive strategic initiatives and drive business case that may include market entry, joint venture partnership, M&A, distribution, among others that lead to profitable growth across the Asia region. Responsible for the origination, evaluation and execution of acquisitions, disposals, JVs/mergers and bank partnership opportunities. Responsible for market and competitive research and analysis to senior management to drive decision making.  Support senior management on country oversight and monitoring. Opportunity assessment across emerging markets with strong understanding of strategic context and willingness to apply judgment. Conduct due diligence, synthesize results across multiple disciplines, including accounting, tax, risk, legal, HR. Ensure due diligence concerns are addressed in transaction negotiation, transaction agreements and initial integration planning. Work closely with internal and external legal counsel and stakeholders in drafting and reviewing transaction documentation. Manage and coordinate deliverables from third party relationships. Develop valuable insights across sector developments, evolution of trends  and M&A practices and how this impacts the  competitive positioning in the market entry.

To qualify, you will be a degree holder with a minimum of 15 years’ relevant experience in financial institution sector coverage, wealth & asset management or insurance preferred, Previous Corporate Finance, M&A experience with a multinational company, investment bank, accounting firm, private equity or strategy consulting firm. Strong financial modeling and valuation skills, project management skills and clearly evidenced negotiation skills. Very strong business acumen and highly developed communication and relationship skills. Broad Asian network and Asia experience preferred. Fluency in English is required with Chinese is a definite plus.
