Regional Government Sector Executive - Manager / Assistant Manager (2-year fixed term contract)
ASPAC Regional Team & Reporting Line

As part of the regional team, you will play an integral role in helping firms meet Trust and Growth ambitions, promoting consistency and collaboration, so that KPMG becomes the Clear Choice for clients and talent. This role presents an exciting opportunity to build relationships with senior leaders across member firms throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Reporting to the Regional Head of Government with secondary reporting to the ASPAC Advisory COO and ASPAC Clients & Markets, you will facilitate the development and implementation of our Regional Sector strategy alongside the current ASPAC Govt Sector Executive.

About the role

The ASPAC Sector Strategy has been set to drive growth, scale, and replication within the Government Sector across Asia Pacific. The role is to work alongside the current Sector Executive and support the Regional Sector Leader in building the sector program to deliver the strategy. In addition, you will need a client focus to understand the sector issues and a solid sense of personal responsibility for both our clients and your personal goals.

Strategy, Leadership & Execution:
  • Help deliver upon the ASPAC Govt sector strategy, including all budgeting and reporting requirements associated with running the Sector
  • Support the regional go-to-market strategy focused around prioritized sector sub-networks and propositions
  • Proactively surface regional Sub-Sector issues to be considered within the regional go-to-market strategy and escalate to Global leadership
  • Act as a regional point of contact with the Global Government Sector team and broader global network across ASPAC
  • Disseminate global materials and encouraging participation in Global Sector Network activities
  • Develop understanding of KPMG-wide services, solutions, priority government sector propositions and Alliance based offerings

  • Organize regular regional Sector and Sub-Sector network meetings
  • Coordinate requests for Global Government Sector information from local Sector teams, resolving inquiries, and otherwise escalating strategic requests to the Global Government Executive
  • Establish & manage a quarterly review process to monitor the performance of prioritized Sub-Networks and propositions against financial year targets
  • Produce reports and presentations to provide key sector updates on activity, pipeline, wins and revenue
  • Support national Sector teams to help create and manage an opportunity pipeline
  • Undertake regular competitor analysis to identify new areas of opportunity and where defensive responses are required
  • Monitor the delivery of key engagements is and any performance issues are escalated

Market Development:
  • Support key pitches, helping link global and regional subject matter experts with pursuit teams
  • Identify appropriate thought leaderships topics and, working with regional subject matter experts and the ASPAC Marketing & Communications Team
  • Work with external Sector bodies and industry organisations, together with relevant national Communications/Sector contacts, to organize KPMG sponsored events
  • Drive the development of key Government Sector client relationships, including the development of stakeholder maps and client contact lists for prioritized sub-sectors
  • Proactively surface credentials for landmark engagements in each prioritized sub-network
  • Champion key Business Development frameworks to enable sub-sector teams to drive growth

Skills and experience
  • Diploma/Tertiary degree or equivalent (preferably in an economics, political science, international affairs, business, or information technology discipline)
  • Strong project management skills and ability to build and work with a virtual cross-border team
  • Robust consulting experience, ideally in the Government Sector
  • Confident and proactive in the adoption and use of technology
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a can-do attitude
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
  • Mandarin, Cantonese, or other Asian language skills would be an advantage
