We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a
Senior Business Continuity & Incident Management Manager, Global Banking & Markets (GBM) ASP. Principal Responsibilities - Be prepared to support incident management. Act as a back-up to the ASP Global Banking & Market Business Continuity & Incident Management Manager (BCIM) Head with managing live incidents that impact GBM business areas and may invoke the GBM Incident Management Team (IMT). Monitor daily events and engage with key partners
- Maintain and manage updates to the Incident Management Plan on a regular basis with a focus on Important Business Areas and key staff changes. Ensure business teams have effective procedures for escalating incidents to appropriate channels. Responsible for managing Everbridge notifications and incident communications. Understand clearly the objectives of the IMT and of the Major Incident Group (MIG), and communicate accordingly
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the senior management, business recovery coordinators and other staff of the designated GBM business areas and asset classes
- Act as a delegated control operator to ensure the effective management of GBM BCIM controls across ASP. Manage and support the development, maintenance, validation and continuous improvement of BCIM in the region for GBM business teams
- Support a consistency of approach across the GBM business globally and attend the global GBM BCIM management meetings. Operate as part of a global function that collaborates and implements best practices across regions for GBM BCIM priorities
- Build strong partnerships with the HK BCIM team to align the business lines across one entity’s requirements. Partner with BCIM Heads in ASP to support their GBM BCIM programs ‘as needed’
- Support the Operational Resilience program for MSS which is a global initiative. Collaborate with the Global/UK MSS Op Res team as well as ASP MSS NFR to contribute to the ASP MSS Operational Resilience program
- Work with business teams and local market BCIM heads to ensure compliance to the HSBC BCIM lifecycle requirements for ASP GBM teams, subject to local business and regulatory requirements. This includes ensuring that Business Impact Analyses, BC Plans and effective testing are conducted and evidenced in line with HSBC Group BCM Operating Instructions
- Have a pulse on the regulatory and the risk landscapes, with a forward-looking view of potential areas of concern that could impact the GBM business
- Adapt Work Area Recovery strategies to ensure business responses are fit-for-purpose and appropriate to the scale, nature and complexity of the teams. Collaborate with Corporate Services on any strategic premise changes that impact the GBM recovery site
- Manage the GBM recovery site and build strong relationships with the onsite premise and technology teams
- Act as a project lead for GBM BCIM initiatives, as agreed with the ASP Head of GBM BCIM
- Produce quarterly control monitoring reports for ASP GBM senior stakeholders
- Ensure senior management, business recovery coordinators and other members of staff of the designated business areas and asset classes are appropriately trained in BCIM
- Ensure local third party risks are appropriately identified, assessed and managed
- Represent HSBC on sector and subject matter BCM forums as needed
Requirements
- Experience in risk or control management
- Experience in actively supporting the live response to major incidents and delivering crisis management training
- University degree with proven relevant work experience, preferably in global markets, investment banking, asset management or private banking
- Subject matter expert in Business Continuity and Incident Management programs preferred but not mandatory
- Professional certification (eg. CBCI, MBCI or DRI) would be an advantage
- Ability to translate global, regional and local priorities to direct business activities
- Ability to make sound decisions and manage priorities, including when under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Experience with working in a highly regulated and complex global organization
- Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and partners, and guide/influence decision making
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with careful attention to detail
- Fluent in English, with fluency in Cantonese a distinct advantage in collaborating with HK partners
- A track record of being self-motivated and independent to achieve positive results. Exhibits innovative thinking
- Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and SharePoint
- Willingness to work beyond the standard office schedule as needed, due to evening calls and/or incident responses
