Senior Manager, Data Management (Group IT)

Our client is a listed conglomerate with an aim to digitally transform their tech capability and is currently looking for a Senior Manager, Data Management.
About the Role
This is a key member of the IT Data Team, reporting to the Director and has close interaction with functional leads, data analysts and data scientists. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and overseeing the creation of automated data pipelines, implementing best practices for data analytics, architecting database solutions, and offering strategic insights based on data queries. As a team lead, you will design and enhance ETL (extract, transform and load) and ELT processes by working with data engineers to determine the data requirements of the various functions and implement design concepts to support different business stakeholders. You will also drive the development and availability of information assets in the form of data services and products for internal and external consumption to ensure consistency and strategic alignment of all BI and analytics needs
The Successful Applicant
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, with a minimum of 8 years experience in data management or analysis
- Proven working experience as a data expert or expertise in data models, database management, data mining, and segmentation techniques
- Working knowledge of the Tableau platform (or Power BI), reporting, structure/design, and query languages is preferred
- Strong knowledge of reporting packages (Business Objects etc), databases (SQL, etc), programming (ETL frameworks)
- Must possess advanced numerical, statistical, and analytical skills; strong problem-solving skills required - able to think critically and evaluate data patterns and structures
- Experience developing and using advanced software applications, algorithms, querying and automated processes to cleanse, integrate and evaluate datasets and models
- Ability to decipher and organize large amounts of data
- An analytical mindset with excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Good command in Chinese and English
