The Underwriting Excellence team at AIA Group Office focuses on transforming our customer onboarding experience and underwriting process whilst maintaining robust risk standards and achieving top customer satisfaction.In this role you will use your underwriting expertise to drive the Underwriting Excellence team’s regional strategy forward, through origination of innovative ideas and initiatives, development of business cases and promoting to key group and local stakeholders and external reinsurers. You will also be responsible for the delivery of your initiatives adopted by our local business units and post-delivery monitoring of results.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Identify potential underwriting solutions and opportunities that will help deliver on our strategy through engagement with internal and external providers
- Apply underwriting technical evaluation of the opportunities to ensure effective risk management
- Develop business cases and presentations for senior group and local stakeholders
- Run proof of concept or pilots in local business units and publish results
- Execute initiatives in close collaboration with Business and Technical workstreams in both group and local business units to ensure timely delivery
- Establish post-delivery monitoring standards and procedures
- Develop our underwriting best practice knowledge library and deliver training to our group-wide underwriting community
Minimum Job Requirements:
- University graduate
- 7-10 years of relevant experience as an underwriter within the Life Insurance or Reinsurance Industry
- Regional experience, preferred
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management experience required
