The Position

The role will be based in Hong Kong and will be focused on generating new business opportunities for existing and established clients. This is a role for an entrepreneurial and established individual who is able to maintain the relations with senior clients.

Principal Accountabilities

The role is focused on developing Corporate Investment Coverage business.

This role is focused on mainland China and South East Asia and the candidate is expected to focus on cross border opportunities for Chinese and South East Asia companies acting internationally, (with a focus on Europe including Turkey and Russia) and on companies who are looking for inward investment into Hong Kong (with a focus on Europe including Turkey and Russia). Experience with commodity products is a positive but not a required characteristic.

The individual in this role will be expected to focus on Large multinational corporates Chinese or South East Asian corporates looking for outward investment in the region. In case of Chinese corporates strong understanding of SOEs, particularly in natural resources sectors and their investment plans for one belt one road region are preferred.

This role includes the following responsibilities: identifying a group of targeted clients and offering M&A ideas provided by global banking industry teams, introducing VTBC and its product offering to these new clients, including acquisition financing package, M&A advisory, commodity solutions as well as corporate banking product suit of VTB Group, representing clients internally at VTBC and managing to both performance targets and strategic selling.

The role is responsible for:                      

  • Establishing, developing and controlling strong relationship with senior clients;
  • Ensuring the high quality of clients’ deliverables.

Key Competencies & Qualifications

The person should be a senior experienced coverage banking practitioner with a solid experience in the industry and a broad knowledge across the entire banking product range.

The candidate should be comfortable in building and developing client relationships, be able to network extensively internally to understand the capabilities of the VTB group and how to manage and harness its capability to grow the Asia business in the organization

Person specification

Experience of working within local Client base (China including Hong Kong).

Specific industry experience in the Chinese market is a prerequisite, together with product knowledge and experience of the sector and market dynamics in the region

Track record across a range of transaction structures including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, equity / debt capital markets, financing transactions and GTB (guarantees, Current accounts, deposits etc).

The person is expected to be a graduate of one of the leading Universities, to be fluent in Mandarin and English.

The person should be exceptionally motivated, ambitious and intellectually curious; enthusiastic team player with strong analytical skills; results-focused achiever, responsible and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
