Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and energetic Software Engineer to join our Markets Systems technology team. Our team develops first-in-class systems for trading, market data dissemination and surveillance monitoring in cash and derivate markets. We play a critical role on full software development cycle, including architecture design, development, testing and implementation of our mission critical systems. We also partner with infrastructure and cyber security team to operate our systems in such fast growing financial markets in Hong Kong.

Job Duties:

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the development, maintenance and support for various Market Surveillance systems of HKEX cash and derivatives markets. Surveillance systems includes both in-house and vendor systems.
• Automate and streamline system health check and operations.
• Carry out production support.
• Work with technology teams for application setup, OS upgrade and performance testing.
• Perform optimization, capacity planning, performance monitoring and security management.
• Establish technical excellence and standard following industry best practices.
• Uphold compliance with organization policies and standards.

Requirements:

• Solid experience in shell scripting (e.g. bash), Linux, Python and DevOps.
• Excellent in at least of programming languages, include Java, .Net, with experience in SQL Server and DB2.
• Detail-oriented, able to deliver the best quality of work on planning, coordination and execution.
• Strong problem solving, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Willing to learn and support new technology stacks.
• Be an excellent team player to collaborate with multiple teams.
• Experienced in technical testing and deployment is an added advantage.
• Be enthusiastic to make an impact using technology.
• Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.
• Putonghua is an added advantage
