The Supervisor role within Fund Services, China, HK & SEA, will support fund services activities in pursuit of delivering a superior investment experience to external clients and internal business partners. The incumbent will have responsibility for a broad range of fund services related activities including contributing to or leading continuous improvement initiatives. He/She will work closely with Invesco’s investment, technology, product line management, client relationships, and corporate functions (e.g., compliance and legal) where required. The incumbent will be a collaborative key member who can operate effective as part of a broader team and add continuous value to Invesco’s capabilities
Key Responsibilities / Duties:
- Oversight of 3rd party service providers, including fund administrators, transfer agency, trustee & custody by acting as a day-to-day escalation contact point. This role would require more focus on fund accounting and trustee interactions.
- Liaison with other APAC regional offices to deliver an effective and efficient external service vendor risk oversight model
- Partnering with offices in the region such as Hyderabad offices to support fund valuation & pricing controls and framework for APAC regional offices with focus in Hong Kong
- Maintaining good partnership yet professional relationship with 3rd party service providers to drive and deliver innovative business solutions
- Maintain efficient controls and procedures of Fund Services’ Day to day functions covering fund valuation oversight and cash liquidity management with investment team for mutual funds, Cayman funds, SICAV, HK retail trusts and HK pension funds
- Maintaining controls over cash projection and cash liquidity for retail trust, mutual and pension funds, including to respond timely to investment team’s enquiries relating on FX and overdraft prevention
- Effective escalation and resolution of service-related issues
- Developing and maintaining an industry leading digitized service delivery model, ensuring risk and performance are managed to the very highest of standards
- Drive and support continuous improvement across the function
- Involvement of projects aligned to Invesco’s business priorities
- Support fund launches by participating in meetings as subject matter expert in fund administration
- Support solutions to meet both regulatory and management reporting requirements
- Oversight of the fund audit, SOC 1 and FMCC audit processes, and being the management point of contact for escalation of audit issues
- Have certain concept and knowledge in technology platforms associated with fund valuation oversight. Work with various technology groups and external providers to accomplish department objectives
Work Experience / Knowledge:
- Between 3-5 years’ relevant experience, preferably in the asset management industry and multinational firm
- Audit / consultancy big four firm experience
- Proven experience supporting development of a vision through execution and day to day handling dynamic, client-focused organization
- Proven experience in executing effective change management, leading others through transformational change
- Ability to translate thoughts into action
- Proven experience in building and maintaining collaborative working relationships with internal clients to understand their business needs
- Knowledge of business risk, sound working knowledge of robust operating procedures and controls
- Broad understanding of investment operations, thorough knowledge of institutional and retail businesses with Invesco (or similar) product lines, regulatory issues, systems, and support procedures and controls; knowledge of basic middle to back office operation of FX and bank instructions, is an advantage
- Broad understanding of technology (e.g., industry platforms, data tools, portals, workflow, automation), digital savvy
