A Financial Institution is looking for a Web Migration Specialist to be responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of website migration projects. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including web developers, designers, content creators, and IT personnel, to ensure a seamless transition of web content and functionality from one platform to another. Your goal will be to minimize downtime, maintain data integrity, and optimize the user experience during and after the migration process.
- Plan and strategize website migration projects, including defining project scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements.
- Conduct comprehensive audits of existing websites to identify potential issues and develop migration strategies to address them.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and objectives for the new website or platform.
- Coordinate with web development and design teams to ensure the technical feasibility and compatibility of the migration process.
- Conduct content inventory and mapping exercises to categorize and organize website content for the migration process.
- Develop and execute data migration plans, ensuring the accurate transfer of data from the old platform to the new one.
- Test and troubleshoot migrated websites to identify and resolve any issues or bugs.
- Optimize website performance, including page load times, SEO, and user experience, during and after the migration process.
- Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery plans to protect website data and ensure business continuity.
- Provide training and support to internal teams on the new platform and its features.
- Stay updated with the latest web technologies, best practices, and industry trends to ensure continuous improvement in the migration process.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in website migration projects, preferably in a professional services or agency environment.
- Familiarity with popular CMS platforms such as WordPress, Drupal, or Joomla.
- Proficiency in using website migration tools and software.
- Solid understanding of SEO principles and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
