*** Linux Engineer – Top tier Buyside Firms/ Hedge Funds / Quantitative Trading Firm/ Proprietary Trading Firms (Hong Kong/ Singapore) ***

Responsibilities

• Manage systems infrastructure across multiple data centers, including servers, networking (switches, routers, and cross connects/private lines/VPN tunnels), OS, and backend services (Kerberos, AFS, LDAP, DNS, DHCP, FTP, package repositories, etc)
• Ensure availability and performance of production trading systems during market hours
• Improve stability and fault tolerance of systems and network infrastructure
• Work closely with team members, data center providers and brokers and brokers 
• Enhance monitoring systems and network infrastructure and writing custom checks
• Establish and improve performance metrics and system usage stats 
• Develop scripts to batch and automate systems tasks
• Manage and improve systems provisioning process with Puppet and Ansible.
• Perform database administration duties, including setup and configurations, access control, data import and export, monitoring, replication and backups, clustering, etc
• Staying up to date with new technologies
• Good understanding of entire software stack, from kernel issues to application deployment
• Support and manage Windows and Virtualization platforms

Requirements

• Extensive experience with Linux systems with solid knowledge of TCP/IP and experience with Cisco or other enterprise-level network equipment: both layer 2 and layer 3.
• Proficient in scripting languages: BASH, Python, Ruby, etc.
• DNS, LDAP, SMB, NFS, SMTP and Apache or Nginx. 
• Knowledge of enterprise storage: DAS, NAS, SAN, etc.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and fluent in English
• Experience in customer support, Debian / Ubuntu Linux, Kerberos, OpenAFS, LDAP, DNS, etc
• Extensive experience using and managing 50+ node clusters
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud technologies is a plus
• Development experience with at least one major programming language
• Open Source Software exposure.
