ENTERPRISE LEARNING & DEVELOPMENT
L&D CONSULTANT-DIGITAL LEARNING SOLUTIONS

The Enterprise Learning & Development (EL&D) function sits within the Global Talent Management function in Human Resources and is responsible for designing, developing and delivering strategies and programs that support knowledge acquisition, skill development, and advancement at all stages of an employee's career. As part of a federated training model, the EL&D team is responsible for building and maintaining corporate platforms, tools, procedures and standards and owns all enterprise wide training content/programs (e.g., manager/leadership, core professional curricula, etc). The EL&D team partners closely with the Business Unit Learning teams who are accountable for designing and delivering content/programs that are tailored to specific jobs and/or Business Units.

This L&D Consultant role is positioned within our Digital Learning Solutions team which is responsible for:
• Designing/developing blended learning solutions to address gaps
• Sourcing and piloting new tools and external content
• Staying informed of industry trends and best practices
• Helping advance our strategies to establish an enterprise approach to learning and development

This role reports to the Global Practice Lead - Digital Learning Solutions who is based in Chicago, IL.

MAJOR DUTIES:
1. Responsible for designing and developing internal learning solutions and/or sourcing external content, vendors and tools as needed to address critical gaps in our current offerings (includes instructor led, blended, virtual, performance support tools, and e-learning solutions). This responsibility will include the following:
• Meet with Client Delivery and/or business client SMEs to further understand design requirements
• Provide outline for overall the scope of work and estimates for deliverable effort, cost, and timeline
• Forecast costs and resource requirements associated with content design/development
• Design courses/ programs to meet specific learning outcomes - e-learning, blended and ILT
• Develop broader programs and role-based curricula to meet learners needs at all levels
• Develop job aids and performance support materials
• Partner with SMEs to develop deep business knowledge of our clients, products and services and build relevant learning solutions and practicums for a global audience
• Introduce new processes, technology and tools, where appropriate
• Participate in global design efforts, which will include assigning tasks, set short-term priorities, monitor all activities, providing feedback and ensuring timely and accurate completion of work
• Review facilitators for new or pilot programs; follow through on actions arising out of program reviews
• Deliver/facilitate pilot programs and/or flagship programs when skills and capacity permit
2. Contribute to the creation and maintenance of global design governance standards for all mediums of learning that will be adopted by the entire learning community (100+ partners). This could include standards, procedures, templates, etc. This will require partnership and alignment with other members of the Instructional Design and Technology, Client Delivery and the Business Unit Learning Teams.
3. Conduct regular scans and research to stay informed about content, vendors and tools available in the industry. Test and pilot different approaches, vendors, or tools as appropriate. Assist in finding local solutions for smaller office locations.
4. Responsible for consulting with the Delivery and Operations teams on how learning and development content should be structured and organized so that it can be addressed within the learning architecture roadmap.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:
•Intermediate instructional design expertise (instructor-led, blended, virtual and e-learning) with knowledge of adult learning and motivation principles across geographies - must provide samples of work
•Able to work independently and/or coach other team members through the design of instructionally sound ILT and eLearning modules, supporting materials, and assessments to ensure mastery of learning objectives
•Able to develop course outline using flowcharts, scripts and storyboards, and collaborate with Graphic Designer in the creation and publication of interactive eLearning solutions
•Able to present, explain and sell the instructional design solution/s to internal team and client/s
•Advanced project management (budget, resource management, meeting deadlines in a systematic manner)
•Highly creative, innovative producer and problem-solver able to generate ideas and provide visual concepts for overall training solution while working under time and client pressure
•Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and able to facilitate discussions to reach decisions
•Able to form strong relationships with business clients, EL&D partners, and Systems across the globe
•Able to translate business requirements into user-centric systems requirements
•Strong consulting, influence, conflict management, and negotiation skills
•Exposure to process management, design standards and governance (e.g., able to build processes and templates to minimize development time)
•Excellent organizational and analytical skills required
•Relentless attention to detail, high standards, and the ability to produce high quality deliverables
•A team player interested in working in a collaborative and team-oriented environment
•Technical skills / systems knowledge (e.g. Microsoft, Articulate e-Learning Tools, and other Learning Platforms) is required

EXPERIENCE:
•Advanced instructional design, development and delivery experience required
•Vendor sourcing, management, and assessment experience
•Exposure to global learning technology initiatives that have impacted performance and effectiveness
•Prior budgeting, forecasting and business analysis experience
•Some experience designing and/or reengineering processes to gain efficiencies

QUALIFICATIONS:
•College/University degree or relevant work in L&D within a global financial services firm required
•Several years' experience in L&D with deep expertise in instructional design and L&D solution development
•Strong understanding of the learning technologies that can be used to support design and learner experience
