LNG Analyst - Based in Tokyo

A leading energy consultancy business is looking for a motivated Gas/LNG analyst based in Tokyo, Japan. The role sits within the global market research team, with a focus on Japan and Korea.

• 社内の AIS LNG 船データを使用して、短期的な LNG 取引フローを追跡および予測する
• 戦略的な市場見通しを提供する定量的および定性的な調査レポートと解説を作成する
• カンファレンスやクライアント サイト ミーティングへの参加

要件/スキル

• 関連する教育分野（経済学、工学、エネルギー、金融、情報技術など）における優れた学歴
• E&P、中流、または LNG 企業でのエネルギーおよびガス / LNG 市場調査または競合他社のインテリジェンス グループにおける 2 年以上の直接的な業界経験

複数の情報源（定量的および定性的）からのデータと情報を統合する優れた能力

• Python またはその他の一般的に使用されるプログラミング言語を使用して大規模なデータセットを処理および処理できることはプラスですが、必須ではありません
• Excel と PowerPoint の確かな習熟度
• 実践的な態度による優れた分析力と問題解決能力
• 英語の読み書きが上手で、優れたライティング スキルを発揮できること
• 日本語の読み書きができることはプラスですが、必須ではありません
• 商業的な考え方
• 優れたチームプレーヤーであり、独立して作業することもできます

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the regional expert for natural gas and LNG market research based in Japan
• Understand the correlation and dynamics of the global and regional LNG markets
• Forecast natural gas and LNG demand by sector (power, industrial, residential, etc.) with a focus on the role of gas in the energy transition
• Analyze the technical and economic feasibility of planned infrastructure projects in Japan
• Follow developments in the regasification and infrastructure projects to understand the evolution of trade flows across provinces and country borders
• Deeply understand and analyze gas and LNG pricing mechanism in the region
• Contribute to forecasting international gas/LNG prices
• Track and forecast short-term LNG trade flows using in-house data
• Produce quantitative and qualitative research reports and commentaries delivering strategic market outlook
• Participation at conferences and client site meetings
• Assist with business development activities

Requirements

• Strong academic track record in the relevant education field
• At least 2 years of direct industry experience in energy and gas/LNG
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on attitude
