Key Responsibilities:
Overall responsibility for the Core Operations business including driving strategic direction, performance and ensuring the business unit adheres to firm policies and procedures, regulatory and legislative requirements.  Establishing and driving a strong engagement and governance model across the business and our COE team is a key requirement and developing process and practices that meet our business objectives and set a clear strategy that is developed and communicated across the team.
Strategy:
  • Set the strategic core operations direction to support the business in terms of products, segments, channel and franchise
Day-to-Day Business Management:
  • Plan and ensure effective and efficient management of Core Operations
  • Develop and co-ordinate between various business functions group to ensure execution/implementation of the business plan
  • Ensure compliance and conformance to regulatory ruling and corporate policies/procedures and its relevant control
  • Ensure appropriate controls are in place to manage the operational risk , information  security , outsourcing and other related risk  in carrying out the functions
  • Managers and directs the overall operational process for consumer business, maximizing the central pool in HQ and the outsource team
  • Manage, develop and foster governance framework and controls across team in Shanghai HQ and the outsource COE team
  • Drive process efficiency, standardization and common practices across the team aligning this with the regional standards
  • Be innovative in order to embed best in class operations processes that fulfill customer promise
  • Ensure high accuracy of all regulatory reports and their timely submission
  • Ensure financials target are met to deliver the country's plan numbers, and pro-actively look into initiatives to provide additional opportunities
People Management:
  • Build a high-performing team by leading and coaching direct reports to be able to achieve the business objectives
  • Ensure the appropriate skills and experience are developed within the business to promote career development and growth
  • Develop leadership skills of direct reports  through both training and challenging on-the job assignments
  • Promote a positive and committed team environment to underpin strong employee engagement
Knowledge/Experience:
  • Strong knowledge of retail financial products and services, including and not limited to  credit card and  loans, payment instruments , investment/wealth management products
  • Knowledge in local legal and regulatory requirement
  • Track record in delivering results - recognised for strong execution skills
  • Strong and demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to work with and influence a diverse and senior management team
  • Excellent client skills and strong stakeholder management
  • Results driven with strong drive and finely tuned business judgement
  • Defines operational policy and drives outsourcing  decisions
  • Sets standards for product and service delivery
  • Experience in operating internationally across large, highly matrixed organisations
  • Experience in leading and managing teams across multiple locations
  • Strong people management and interpersonal skill

Qualifications

  • Strong pedigree in the financial services sector
  • Bachelor degree,  preferably with Master degree, major in Business, Finance, Operations Management
  • At least 15 years of relevant working experience
