Secured Litigation & Recovery Manager

Manage and lead Secured Litigation - To handle all NPL customers and to initiate legal actions (foreclosure / litigation) in order improve NPL and to increase Recovery / Upgrades of NPL accounts for Secured portfolio.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Financial

  • Lead the team to achieve the target indicators set in terms of delinquencies flow through, NPL / NPF and specific provisions for Secured products
  • Monitor and review collector's productivity and effectiveness
  • Manage and to achieve the target indicator set in terms of delinquencies and recoveries
  • Contribute to meet department financial KPI and departmental cost
Compliance
  • Ensure strict adherence to all credit policies, procedures, BNM guidelines, compliance, information security, et
  • Submission of CSA / RRSA and other relevant reports within due date
Processes
  • Manage the NPLs of Secured portfolio including instituting legal actions ie. Foreclosure end to end process and civil actions
  • Review and ensure all legal and foreclosure proceedings is timely acted
  • Handle and manage customers objections or issues escalated
  • Prepare proposals for restructuring, composite settlement or instalment plan
  • Monitor Collectors performance closely and coach and guide weaker collectors to achieve KPIs sets.
  • Manage staff resources and ensure smooth operations of the team daily.
  • Attend and process customers request whenever necessary
Human Capital
  • Develop staff to a higher level of performance through personal coaching; appraisals and training
  • Plan for continuity and succession of jobs by recognising and developing staff potentials
  • Implement new initiatives to constantly improve Employee Satisfaction; maintain high morale of staff and retain good performers in the team
  • Take on ad hoc projects and/or special tasks assigned by Unit Head / HOD
  • Back up Unit Head during their absence.

Qualifications
  • Able to lead and inspire a team to achieve delinquency and productivity targets
  • Hands-on experience in Collection, Recovery & Litigation process
  • Basic knowledge and practical experience on litigation process and understanding of regulatory requirements
  • Practical knowledge and experience on unsecured products and collection systems
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Good communication and inter-personal skill
  • Strong in process and workflow management to achieve higher efficiencies
  • Minimum 3 years of Collections experience in Secured
  • Proficient in English and good writing skills
  • Pleasant disposition with good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Positive attitude together with initiative; and able to work independently
  • Able to motivate team towards achieving goals
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Words, Excel, and PowerPoint
