Big Data Support Lead

  • Responsible for monitoring business applications and services in production as Level 2, mainly based on strategic Cloud BigData platform
  • Handling incident tickets as well as customer calls
  • Responsibility for Batch job monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Parsing and analyzing data feeds as well as error checking
  • Writing and running scripts on DB for ad-hoc reports
  • Application / component administration on Windows/ Unix servers
  • Software deployment and problem management
  • Participation in the events such as Quarterly Maintenance Windows and Disaster Recovery rehearsals
  • Automation of support activities
  • Support DevOps principle throughout the team

  • You hold at least of 5 years of experience in a similar position
  • You have prior experience in Production Support preferably.
  • You possess good knowledge of working in Banking or Financial Services.
  • You are an expert in Linux / Windows administration.
  • You are an expert at writing SQL queries (select, joins, deletes) / databases.
  • You have experience in data ingestion and pipeline management and have quick problem solving ability.
  • You have worked in an international, multicultural and multi-vendor environment.
  • Good communication skills in English are essential as the role requires direct communication with international team members and clients
  • You have coordinated with different business partners from IT and Business side.
  • "Hadoop and Big Data" based tools and technologies along with Java / python based applications
  • Tools: Jira, Confluence, Rundeck, Nagios and Saltstack/Ansible
  • Deep understanding of Cloud (preferably AWS)
  • Developer background would be advantageous.
  • Scripting: Spark and Scala
  • Experience with Palantir Foundry is a plus
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Forward-thinking, fast, positive and motivated, with a clear 'can-do, will-do' attitude
  • You have a record of prioritization tasks, managing time along with the willingness to learn.
  • Good collaborator as well as able to work independently.
  • You hold a bachelor's/master's degree in Informatics, Computer Sciences or similar degree and/or experience in a similar role.
  • Cloudera or other Hadoop Certification would be a plus.
