Description of role:

The newly created role is Singapore will report into the Head Asia Pacific Data Governance. The individual will be part of the team responsible for the formation and execution of the data governance framework for the region. The role will coordinate across senior level business stakeholders to address regional data governance mandates. As part of this function the incumbent will also need to ensure the adherence to firm wide data governance policies and practice to ensure consistency of application at the country level. A successful candidate will be self-motivated, able to partner across the organization with the ability to understand interpret data strategy and regulatory guidelines to address local demand in order to drive and deliver effective data governance solutions

Key Responsibilities and skills:

• Be part of the team establishing, delivering and governing the local bank data governance road map. This will be aligned with the global strategic agenda tailored to meet onshore regulatory demand
- Project management of the implementation of data related initiatives in the location, liaising with key stakeholders across the organization to define requirements, scope and approach of any initiatives
- Define process for ongoing evaluation of data with application of performance indicators and risk indication metrics driven by business priority and criticality for the purposes of board reporting and dashboards
- Excellent stakeholder and relationship management with the ability to build strong relationships in order to leverage resources outside of direct control to achieve goals
- Collaborate across multiple stakeholders to roll out the relevant data related standards and processes and also to gather information
• Development a consistent target state that will be subject to ongoing monitoring and evaluation
- Ensure compliance with data related policies, standards, roles and responsibilities, and adoption requirements
- Preparation of regulatory responses for data driven requests
- Partner with the broad firmwide data organization to track progress impacting China and to facilitate local implementation locally as needed. This includes data quality standards, data lineage, and data glossary to ensure data use is in line with the intended model
- Communicate, educate and promote the importance and value of data to raise awareness locally

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience within data governance or data centric role with a strong element of project management
• Experience dealing with regulators and managing regulatory responses
• Solution oriented, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills and able to build and maintain global relationships
• Fluency in Mandarin is required
