Privacy Officer - Global Lead, VP
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this position include:
  • Provide strategic leadership for the Global Privacy Office program and ensure that various initiatives related to Global Privacy follow project plans, are completed on-time and on-budget;
  • Lead compliance efforts regarding the Company's cross border transfer mechanisms;
  • Provide oversight of the Privacy Program and lead efforts to drive accountability for privacy in multiple respective disciplines;
  • Consult and coordinate with Regional Privacy Officer in the Americas, APAC, and EMEA, providing guidance and direction for risk assessments and compliance concerns;
  • Lead and coordinate regulatory risk assessments and develop strategies to address mitigation plans and remediation efforts;
  • Provide strategic privacy-related advice and support for new business ventures, pilot programs and initiatives;
  • Provide overall support to the Privacy Oversight Committee;
  • Guide the development and delivery of communications and privacy training programs to raise awareness about the company's Privacy Program across business functions;
  • As a leadership position, responsible for helping to ensure that the Global Privacy Office goals and initiatives are achieved; and
  • Assist in division-wide compliance initiatives and special projects.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS
Successful candidates should possess the requisite knowledge, experience, leadership, and relationship skills as follows:
  • 4-year bachelor's degree in a relevant area of study from an accredited University; law degree a plus;
  • Minimum of 8+ years' experience in privacy, legal, compliance, audit and/or information security required;
  • Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP) or other relevant professional certification a plus;
  • Experience in managing a privacy and data protection program in a multi-national organization in the financial services sector preferred;
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience with subject matter expertise in Privacy;
  • Experience managing staff, especially remote teams, a plus;
  • Flexible approach and a strong team player;
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with strong attention to detail;
  • Extensive knowledge of international privacy laws, regulations, compliance and best practices;
  • Excellent written, oral and presentation skills;
  • Ability to develop and implement highly effective strategic communications plans;
  • Excellent analytical and project management skills;
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and resources with a sense of urgency and to navigate within a complex organization;
  • Creative problem-solving skills;
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills to effectively build relations and interact with associates at all levels within the organization;
  • Effective supervisory skills and ability to work cooperatively in a team environment to accomplish department goals;
  • High degree of initiative and excellent judgment to effectively resolve issues;
  • Experience managing the change associated with a complex, global system implementation;
  • Demonstrated success working in a complex and deadline driven environment;
  • Ability to work and influence a wide range of cross-functional teams and leaders within a matrixed organization;
  • Strong project management and communications skills; and
  • Proficiency with enterprise content management systems, collaboration tools, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications.
