The Role Responsibilities
  • Engage with Technology Architects to understand the enterprise and drive the Credit Origination platforms strategic and sustainable approach while meeting business needs
  • Engage with Business to understand user journeys prioritised for development.
  • Deliver user stories in the form of automated unit tests, application code, platform as code, deployment as code and automated tests.
  • Participate in Agile ceremony for product development.
  • Responsible for design and implementation of DevOps that covers continuous integration, code scanning, automated testing, configuration management, release management, blue-green deployment, online collaboration, cloud hosting, and system monitoring.
  • Responsible for implementing Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD) pipelines by working with Credit Origination Development team and SCB Enterprise DevOps team.
  • Champion DevOps innovations by introducing better tools and agile practices.
  • Ensure reports on code metrics (i.e. code quality, code coverage, security scanning etc) are in place.

Our Ideal Candidate

Software Engineering & Architecture
  • Strong experience in agile methodologies and test-driven development.
  • Experience in software development using open source technologies.
  • Experience in automated software testing.
  • Strong knowledge in domain-driven design, design patterns and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Must have experience in delivering software via complete Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Software Development
  • Must be able to code in Java (Spring Boot and Spring Cloud Services)
  • Experience in some of the technologies below:
    • Language: Scala, SQL, JavaScript, Groovy, Python
    • PaaS: Openshift, AWS, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes
    • Data: MySQL, Postgres, Oracle, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Hadoop, Spark, HIVE, Tableau
    • Cache: Redis, Memcached
    • Middleware: Kafka, RabbitMQ, WebsphereMQ, REST API
    • UI: HTML5, Angular 4, ReactJS, Bootstrap, CSS, RxJS
    • Logging & Monitoring: ELK, Zipkin, AppDynamics, New Relic
  • Strong knowledge in CI/CD toolset such as Ansible, Artifactory, Jenkins, BitBucket, SonarQube, Fortify, Flyway, Jira and Confluence.
  • Strong knowledge in automated testing toolset such as jUnit, Mockito, cucumber, Selenium etc.
  • Strong knowledge in scripting languages such as Groovy and Linux shell.
  • Knowledge in Integrated Development Environment (IDE) such as Eclipse and IntelliJ
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
  • 8+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Must be hands-on software design & development and DevOps.
  • Strong experience in Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Deployment (CD)
  • Strong experience in agile methodologies and test-driven development.
  • Experience with enterprise scale systems.

  • Proven ability to work within a team environment.
  • Highly effective verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Ability to make good / sound decisions and use independent judgement.
  • Strong reasoning, analytical and inter-personal skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management.
  • Experience and knowledge of change management principles and methodologies
  • Good track record of communicating effectively with both business and IT staff at all levels.
  • Experience in promoting DevOps culture among developers and testers.
  • Good presentation skills.
