My client, a Tier 1 Investment Bank is seeking a Business Data Analyst to join their Data Management team. The role is focused on providing data management and interpreting the data from a business process perspective. To be successful for this role you must possess the ability to perform analytical assessment of data- sets and information flows across an extensive range of business types and systems.

My client, a Tier 1 Investment Bank is seeking a Business Data Analyst to join their Data Management team. The role is focused on providing data management and interpreting the data from a business process perspective. To be successful for this role you must possess the ability to perform analytical assessment of data- sets and information flows across an extensive range of business types and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Data Management oversight and support including data sourcing and contracts, documenting critical data elements (CDEs), data quality rules, business glossary, and data profiling
  • Perform business and data analysis in response to data failures to support root cause identification of data issues
  • Documenting data validation controls for identified CDEs
  • Undertaking proactive data profiling or monitoring of data, to identify potential issues before they arise
  • Producing data issue metrics and reports to allow stakeholders to make informed decisions or prioritisation
  • Liaising with IT on tracking relevant upstream system changes, via the controls established for the technology investment cycle and production change
  • Liaising with IT to ensure all associated artefacts are up to date for example design models, Data Quality thresholds and data inventory
  • Liaising with IT to ensure data is managed, as per Data Governance Principles and Policies published through the Chief Data Office (CDO)

Skills

  • Strong track record of Business Analysis within Financial Services
  • A proven knowledge of IT technical processes and IT implementations including SDLC/Waterfall, and Agile
  • An understanding of Relational Databases and Structured Query Language (SQL) concepts
  • Business analysis techniques for gathering and documenting requirements
  • Modelling of business processes and system workflows
  • Data analysis, use of databases and simple data modelling (including database and prototyping tools)
  • Experience of business process re-engineering
  • Exposure to multiple software development lifecycle methodologies
