Operational Risk Manager
This leading retail bank is currently seeking an additional Operational Risk professional to join their 2nd Line Operational Risk Oversight function based in Bristol.
This is a new role that has been formed as part of the board's commitment to growing the Oversight function in the bank. The role will be a true 2LOD role assessing the control environment in the bank, giving advice and opinion on where the right controls are in place and raising any actions with the 1LOD and assisting them on how best to deliver on these. Key measures of success will be process improvements in the operational functions.
From an Operational Risk perspective, the bank is particularly keen to consider candidates who may have previous Operations or Risk experience in a customer contact (digital/telephone/postal) operations, or other customer operations / data processing environment. This could have been gained in either a banking or non-banking environment - any organisation with large customer and customer processing functions will be considered (eg telecoms / insurance / utilities etc).
This role will involve a lot of interaction with the senior leadership team in the bank, and so good stakeholder management skills are a must. As a highly visible role, your input and impact will be recognised.
