We now need a Business Development Directorto support the transformation and the future growth of the business within the Wealth Management function, so it can be a market-leading, retirement-led platform provider offering a holistic approach to Retirement Income, Tax and Estate Planning to the UK Wealth Advisory market.

Job summary

Leadership accountability for the successful development and promotion of the new Bulk Platform Proposition such that sales and margins are in line (or exceed) with business plans and risks are within appetite.

Provide insight and analysis of distribution market trends within Wealth Management market including identifying profitable segments of the distribution marketplace. Develop, evolve and take to market Bulk Platform proposition. Recommend and implement proposals to achieve growth.

Lead relationship across all relevant Wealth Management markets with quotation portals, negotiating contracts, costs and information provided to value and sales growth.

With a long track record of successful sales execution and credibility in the industry and well respected in the market, develop and promote highly effective connections with a wide network of CEOs and Executives in the target market that result in the growth of new business of high network clientele year on year.

What you’ll do

•Lead the development of bulk platform proposition across the Wealth Management business line. Drive improvements in proposition by bringing together teams from pricing, finance, customer service and IT to expand scope of bulk platform offering with appropriate consideration of risk in all stages of the development cycle.
•Develop and lead relationships in the bulk market to build a credible presence for Canada Life and ensure that CL has a good understanding of market dynamics. To provide insight and analysis of distribution and market trends based on market feedback. Work with Wealth Management Proposition & Pricing Manager to ensure the platform and product offerings are aligned with market needs and develop in conjunction with IS and proposition team.
•To identify and deliver new forms of bulk platform distribution such as ties with other insurance companies, banks etc. Maximising value of existing Individual bulk platform proposition.
•Lead relationship across all Wealth Management products with quotation portals, negotiating contracts, costs and information provided to value and sales growth.
•Manage a small team to maximise their effectiveness within the organisation. Develop and coach existing team through regular one to one meetings. Contribute fully to Wealth Management senior management team including regular presentations at Corporate Executive level. Responsible for the Wealth Management Bulk Platform proposition and sales cost centre annual budget.

•Demonstrates a good understanding of market trends and how they relate to Retirement Income and CL business
•Strong credibility in the Retirement Income

•3rd level qualification, MBA or equivalent
