Joining Group Transformation as a Technical Risk Specialist, you'll be part of our exciting Digital Cyber Security journey in a role that really matters.
You'll help shape a large degree of investment by identifying the technology and operational risks for a key business domain within the Digital portfolio, working in a multi-disciplined autonomous team delivering change through Agile methodologies.
Lifting the lid on our existing and upcoming digital platforms, you will work with key stakeholders and SMEs to understand the applications, infrastructure and platforms, and put potential issues to the test using our bank-standard risk framework. This is a real opportunity to add value and ensure nothing gets 'brushed under the carpet'.
Job Description Accountabilities:
§ Responsible for independent IT risk assessment activities and complex reviews/analyses to provide reliable, independent evaluation of risk management effectiveness and agree management actions with senior IT / business stakeholders to address issues highlighted. § Prepares and interprets, with insight and information from multiple sources, recommendations for action, which also provide a basis for delivering challenging guidance and advice to influence decisions and behaviours in assigned business areas. § Leading the formulation and delivery of strategies, processes and realistic scenarios to identify risks; with the ability to challenge and advise the business to mitigate and control risks in accordance with the risk appetite. § Understands the business context of the SOCI organisation , IT strategies and supports the formation of a forward view of risk based on an expert understanding technology risk. § Specific knowledge covering the breadth and depth of technology risk with experience to lead across a variety of key risk areas impacting the business, from strategic, operational and change perspectives. Knowledge/Experience:
5+ years experience in a comparable role with transferable skills
Strong practical experience of leading delivery in a relevant technology / technology risk function covering a variety of key skill areas, including some or all of the following:◦Emerging technologies, Digital architecture, cloud technologies, DevOps , software engineering, agile and waterfall methodologies and approaches, 3rd party supplier governance, IT resilience, incident management.
Demonstrates a good understanding of technology engineering and application architecture, roadmap development and key technology risk areas and builds LBG specific and industry knowledge on an ongoing basis in order to talk confidently and competently with business area Band F level and above.
Ability to use a variety of tools and techniques including data analytics to drive robust risk opinions.
Maintains understanding and provides counsel to the business area at a senior level on internal risk themes, external risk trends and regulatory requirements to support business risk management and controls development.
Deep technical knowledge on web application hosting architectures and operational principles, e.g. 3+ tier legacy model, microservices architecture, CI/CD, disaster recovery, high availability, resilience and cloud computing
Ability to work on several designs/projects at the same time with good prioritisation and workload management skills
Excellent presentation skills, both verbally and written, with a keen understanding of stakeholder management at both junior and senior levels ; able to identify key players in delivering the business outcome and to ensure that their needs are fully represented
