We’re working together to protect futures. At BP, we’re committed to providing the energy that fuels growth and improves lives but in new ways, with fewer emissions. These huge and complex challenges would be impossible without our talented workforce. So, naturally, it’s a key priority that our people are looked after - not only now but in the future.

BP Investment Management (BPIM) is an in-house team that manages a breadth of investments on behalf of our pension trustees. Our Operations team play a key role, working side-by-side with Portfolio Managers and Investment Analysts, to provide both operational support and services relating to external assets.

About the opportunity

As our Operations Analyst, you’ll work closely with Portfolio Managers and the trading desk in a fast-changing, ‘zero fail’ environment. You’ll provide day-to-day trade support, and other activities, across a range of markets and investment types such as listed equity, property and private equity. Ultimately, you’ll ensure a smooth end-to-end investment process.

A detail-conscious attitude will be essential. For instance, adhering to operational controls and processes, you’ll ensure we’re operating efficient multi-currency cash flow management, reconciliation and forecasting. In particular, you’ll keep to stipulated deadlines when cash flow processing is involved. Aside from that, you’re also highly personable and able to foster great relationships with internal functions and external stakeholders - including service and key systems providers.

About you

You’re either a graduate with a strong interest in growing your career in Investment Management or someone who already has a background in a trading environment or middle office role and want to develop your career further. Your understanding of data flows, and dependencies between systems, will stand you in good stead. Experience in using Bloomberg AIM is desirable but not essential. You may also have had exposure to Omgeo products, CTM and Alert. Strong Excel skills and good numeracy are also essential. And if you’re ambitious – so much the better. BP supports and encourages its people to attain industry recognised qualifications.
