The Investment Associate is responsible for underwriting investment opportunities, providing financial analysis to support investment decisions and conducting market research. The Investment Associate is also responsible for analysing due diligence materials and assisting in the preparation of investment memorandum.

The Investment Associate is responsible for underwriting investment opportunities, providing financial analysis to support investment decisions and conducting market research. The Investment Associate is also responsible for analysing due diligence materials and assisting in the preparation of investment memorandum.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Assisting senior real estate professionals in sourcing, preparing and presenting new investment memo’s; financing or disposition recommendations; and updates on existing investments or portfolio status.
  • Actively engaging with owners, brokers, equity partners, lenders, attorneys, consultants and all other related internal departments, as appropriate.
  • Financial analysis and underwriting of investment opportunities, including the creation of detailed multi-tier pro-forma waterfall models.
  • Manage acquisition due diligence processes and closings with outside counterparties.
  • Assist with asset management and value-add execution of existing portfolio assets.
  • Market investigation of potential acquisitions, competitive properties and local market fundamental.
  • Proactively develop industry relationships and potential deal-sourcing network.

Your Profile:

  • Demonstrable experience in an analytical role within investment banking, private equity or other related finance position, within a related geographical region.
  •  Strong quantitative background with significant experience with financial modelling, valuations and financial analysis; ideally gained in a corporate finance, related-business or accounting environment.
  • Strong qualitative analytical skills; having the ability to research, analyse and present complex financial data.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; including the ability to effectively write and present a strategic or investment thesis.
  • Demonstrated coaching/mentoring and leadership skills sufficient to recruit, lead, direct, evaluate and manage team members to achieve high performance.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships and influence at all levels.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills to juggle complex tasks and manage the workload of self and others, with the ability to work effectively under pressure, to deadlines and work flexibly in change environment.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, both with respect to managing workload and having the resourcefulness to figure out ‘difficult to find’ solutions.
  • Naturally inquisitive with a desire to understand the bigger picture and get involved with wider team and business objectives.
  • A positive team player, with an adaptable and flexible approach along with ability to work collaboratively to drive results and support the wider team and business objectives.
