Payroll Business Analyst - HR Change, BACS, Ledger

Our client a large financial services firm is looking for a Payroll business analyst with strong HR  project experience.

Role Responsibilities

  1.        Programme Governance
    •          Document and maintain decisions for progression through programme gating
    •          Support planning activities, including project plans, status reports, cut-over plans
    •          Manage relationship with and governance requirements of programme office
    •          Assist with minuting all necessary meetings, with conversion into action & RAID logs
  2.        Change Management
    •          Work closely with Change Management to ensure all change impacts are captured
    •          Assist the delivery of change, including vendor selections, comms and training
    •          Support in the analysis and delivery of the payroll operational model, including service transition documentation and solutioning for issues
  3.        Technical Design
    •          Mapping business requirements and processes for payroll integrations with Benefits, General-Ledger, BACS and Pension systems
    •          Hand-over of finalised designs to technical teams for configuration
  4.        Core Payroll
    •          Document current and target states for payroll processes
    •          Liaise with stakeholders, programme work-streams, and 3rd party vendors to capture payroll build and process requirements
    •          Run relevant payroll design workshops to finalise business requirements, design architecture and technical specifications
    •          Provide build and process consultancy and advice
  5.        Data Support
    •          Create BRDs with key stakeholders for test data, historical migration and data archival
    •          Assist in the design, tracking and delivery of data-related activities
  6.        Testing Support
    •          Support the capture of payroll testing requirements, with conversion into testing scenarios/scripts
    •          Assist with designing and validating entry/exit criteria and test plans, from business requirements

Role Requirements

  1.        Experience with payroll work-streams in HR Transformation programmes, ideally within a mergers or acquisitions space
  2.        Experience with Financial systems, including General-Ledgers and BACS
  3.        Experience with HMRC integrations, including FPS, EPS and EDI
  4.        Operational knowledge of payroll processing, including monthly and yearly cycles
  5.        Strong data management skills, including MS Excel
  6.        Extensive experience with business process mapping methodologies, including Visio
  7.        Frequent travel between London & Aberdeen, with infrequent travel to Edinburgh
  8.        Experience with Workday, parallel testing, benefits & pension systems are desirable but not required
