SVP – Commercial Strategy – MIS Assessments (ESG)
Job Description The Commercial Strategist will be responsible for leading the development of MISA's sales and marketing strategy and customer relationship model in order to deliver against the objectives for the business. The core focus area will be ESG - in particular, in partnership with Vigeo Eiris, an MIS Affiliate - but this may evolve over time. The position will report into the Global Head of MISA, with "dotted line" reporting to the Global Head of MIS Commercial Group.
Specific responsibilities will include:
  • Providing leadership and vision in commercial strategy to ensure best-in-class sales and marketing operations of all MISA activities
  • Creating and coordinating rules of engagement between MIS Commercial Group and MIS Affiliates, including service level alignment (e.g. implementing "ACE" standards where appropriate)
  • Refining the product suite of MIS Assessments and affiliates to ensure alignment of product roadmap in coordination with MISA product Strategist
  • Supporting definition of product offerings (e.g. deliverables, key characteristics [instrument vs. issuer level; monitored vs. unmonitored])
  • Managing the commercial governance of MIS Assessments and its affiliates in areas such as pricing policy, pipeline management, reporting on KPIs
  • Driving the marketing strategy and collateral around the value proposition of MIS Assessments and its affiliates
  • Coordinating market outreach and engagement, including optimal set up of customer relationship management (CRM) model, prioritization of outreach by region, segment and product, and coordinating join VE and MIS commercial initiatives where relevant
  • Promoting and realizing commercial partnerships between MIS Assessments and its affiliates and other entities within Moody's corporation (e.g. Moody's Analytics and its affiliates)
  • Developing relationships and partnerships between MIS Assessments and external parties and organizations

  • Master / MBA and Undergraduate degree (Bachelors) required in business or finance related discipline
  • Extensive strategic and sales experience within the financial services sector
  • Significant experience in Product Management, Product Development or Strategic Planning
  • Strong understanding of ESG and sustainable finance developments (preferred); ability to train and learn quickly in areas with little prior experience
  • Demonstrable experience of leadership and development
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships both internally and externally; ability to move projects forward through people not under immediate management
  • Experience in driving change
  • Experience in managing a team
  • Knowledge and experience in design thinking, agile, and lean start-up principles
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills (including intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Power Point)
  • Excellent presentation and public speaking skills
  • Highly organised with excellent time management skills; ability to manage many competing priorities for the team effectively and work independently
  • Fluent in English is essential
